Ambassing

Still a Greeley Chamber Ambassador going on 6 years and one Ambassador of the Year award. Moved the meetings out of the Chamber office, which has been a nice change. Pre-gamed the Ambassador meeting with a Steering committee meeting beforehand. Always great to catch up with so many of my Chamber buddies on a monthly basis!

21

Happy birthday to Than! A man only turns 21 once in his life and today is that day. I love you so much and am so proud of the person you have become. I pray you continue to seek the Lord, love your wife, and minister to the kids that are in your care. I am excited to see what the year ahead brings you. Cheers!

Rotary-Kress and Highway

Busy week at GSR (Greeley Satellite Rotary), as we had our twice monthly meeting at the Kress and served our community by cleaning up Highway 34. My friend Chalice was the guest speaker, and discussed fixed vs. growth mindset. We actually had a brief discussion on our growth and what that looks like as we scale up. Highway cleanup went well. Collected 21 bags of trash in the 2 1/2 hours we were working.

Breakfast

Survived 4 trips to Brighton in a little over a week. On Monday, we were able to sponsor the new teacher/staff luncheon. Food trucks, giveaways, cornhole, music!

71

Mom would have turned 71 today. I wish I could call her today, or stop by her house, and sing happy birthday to her. Take her out for dinner and dessert. She was always so gracious in sharing her birthday with our anniversary. I love you mom. And I miss you. Here she was with her brothers 26 years ago today, as well as her at her last earthly birthday she celebrated with us in Greeley.

Weekend Wrap

Never a dull moment around the Dirty G. Hosted a booth at the annual Centennial Rotary golf tournament on Friday. My friend Ben won the golf ball drop and a check for $1500. Chased that with the final (thankfully) Neighborhood Movie Night. As you can see, it was very well attended. I think there were only 2 of the 5 that actually happened this summer. Finally on Saturday we moseyed on down to Denver for lunch with the Cruz’s.  No, not Casa Bonita, but the restaurant next door.

PDX-Goodbyes

Goodbyes are always hard things. This week, Sarabeth and Gabe say goodbye as her relocates to Hawaii to pursue his dream of becoming a marine biologist. They have tried to pack in the fun before he leaves. Here’s some of their adventures!

Ghost

I was invited by my friend Paul to attend my first Ghost concert with his friend Paul and his daughter. So off we went to Fiddler’s Green on a Tuesday night. All I can say is that it was quite the spectral. The people, the concert, the music, the overall performance. I’m thankful I remembered earplugs, that’s for sure! Thanks for the invite, Paul!

Craziness

Over the weekend, District 6 held their annual Back to School backpack giveaway day. Kids could show up, get a brand new backpack filled with information and supplies, and then stop by over 50 different booths. We had a successful morning interacting with kids and their families. The district gave out over 3700 backpacks in 3 hours! It was also fun to walk around and connect with my friends that were also there serving the community.
