#growingup

Look who gets to fill out a W2 form this year and every year probably for the rest of his life! Noah! He enters the WOW (world or work) this week as he begins his new job at the Steak N' Shake that is opening in Greeley this month. His friend Nate also got hired. Noah has been doing several late night training shifts after school and cross country. He will be greeting and seating customers to begin with. Looks pretty snazzy!

Fall Festival

Another late September, another fall festival at Frontier Academy. I believe this is our 10th one we have attended. That is kind of hard to believe. Only one more after this year, then all the kids will be at the middle school/high school. Sarabeth enjoyed being the lonely only as Jen and I walked around with her. We ate lunch, played some games and bid on a basket that we ended up not winning. Another wonderful event put on by the Frontier family!

John Martin

Another Friday, another high school cross country meet. This time we traveled back to Ft. Collins for the John Martin invite. Noah was solid again, averaging 7:14 per mile and finishing in 22:35. Team flies out Thursday for Minnesota!

Liberty Bell

Big race last weekend as the Frontier high school traveled to Littleton for the annual Liberty Bell Classic. It was a great course with several viewing areas to watch the boys and girls run by. Noah had another consistent race, finishing in 21:45. The boys won the small schools division and continue to collect awards and recognition. Onto Ft. Collins tomorrow before the big trip to Minnesota next week!

Gilcrest

It was a cold, windy, sleety day at the Gilcrest International Middle School 5k yesterday. Nathanael ran very well considering the conditions. Sarabeth and I cheered him on while drinking hot coffee and chocolate. Really enjoying following the team this year. Back to Ft. Collins next week!

HS XC

Loaded the group up (Ryan, Jen, Andrew, Nathanael, Sarabeth, Jim, Janet, and two injured runners Ben and Nate) and traveled to Ft. Collins Friday for the CSU open. The Frontier team performed amazingly! Both the boys and girls teams won their meet. Noah finished the 5k course in 21:45. He wasn't going to allow the runner behind him catch and pass him at end! Great run son. It is so neat to watch the Frontier XC teams compete and encourage each other and run as a TEAM! High hopes and big things ahead for this squad. Heritage Open in Denver on Friday!

MS XC

Nathanael had his first cross country meet ever today in Eaton. He's been practicing hard now for several weeks and it was time to show off all those practice miles. He was timed last week in the mile at 9:20. Today's course was 1.75 miles of mostly flat terrain. He completed it in 16:30! The pictures include warming up, cheering on the girls race beforehand, the frantic start of the boys race, and Nathanael finally 100 yards from the finish line. Nice work son!

One Decade

Happy birthday Sarabeth! Welcome to the grown-up world of double digits. It was a pretty fun day today, beginning with breakfast at I-Hop with grandma Janet, having special treats for your class this afternoon, frozen yogurt with dad at TCBY after school, you're favorite dinner of moms special meatloaf for dinner, and cake and ice cream to finish the day. Throw in calls from grandparents Roth and Wes and Kaleb, and it was a pretty special day. After all, you only turn 10 once. I love you beautiful girl!
