Left Hand

It's Left Hand Brewing beer paring dinner at the Tavern! I was joined by my friend Jeff McBride of an evening of great food, great beer and great conversations. That's a lot of greats, isn't it? The Drop Dead Russian Imperial Porter was my favorite. The shrimp and grits plate was the most enjoyable food offering. I even won a new hat in the drawing. Always a great night, Chef Chad. Hoping to get to one more dinner before the end of the year. Maybe Broken Plow in December?

RYLA-Welcome Home

We picked up the three Frontier RYLA students yesterday in Estes Park at the YMCA. They were full of stories of all the adventures they had experienced throughout the week. Noah's head counselor spoke very highly of Noah and his leadership abilities. He said Noah had a "firm foundation" and expected great things from him in the future. I know how life-changing my RYLA experience was, and I hope Noah's will be too!

Camp

Nathanael was able to spend his week at grandma and grandpa Roths this month too! They found quite a few fun activities to partake in throughout the week including a tour of the "world famous" Buckhorn Bar by a Vietnam vet. Grandpa took Nathanael to the Rec Center for swimming and shooting hoops. Grandma cooked some great meals that were Nathanael's favorites. And they made an epic shopping trip to Atmosphere Mountain Wear for some sweet new pants! They were also able to take in the annual Jubilee Days parade and watch dads 20th high school reunion float roll by.

Yearbook

It's Yearbook Camp time! Jennifer had the opprotunity to travel to Kansas City last week with two other teachers for Advisor Academy.  They spent 3 days learning how to put together a and publish a great book. Before the conference started on Monday, they spent the day Sunday exploring the city by foot and bike. They found the world famous public library and several great restaurants. The yearbook kids are sure lucky to have such great advisors who are willing to learn new things and stretch and grow!

RYLA

We are pretty proud of Noah, who was selected as a delegate to the RYLA conference this week at YMCA of the Rockies. The Rotary Youth Leadership Award is a week long gathering of student leaders from around Colorado and southern Wyoming. They begin the life-long process of networking, building relationships with people outside of their school and city, and really begin to hone their leadership skills. I attended RYLA before my senior year and it was life changing. Can't wait to hear the stories and lessons he learned!

Team

Noah has been busy running the summer cross country program between work shifts and seeing his girlfriend. We were able to host a team dinner at our house with the help of our good friends the McBrides. The team has also been having some pretty amazing Friday runs, including this one to Redstone Canyon. So thankful for the team and the coaches!

4th

I told you I was a little behind in blogging. After a crazy busy week at work, it was time to BBQ with friends, blow some stuff up and celebrate 'Merica! We were joined for the evenings activities by my favorite in-laws, Lambs and Shaws. The food was great. The beer cold. And two trips to the fireworks stand didn't hurt either. God Bless America.

Whitesnake!

No finer party in Greeley each summer then the Stampede. I was able to find an extra ticket to see Night Ranger and Whitesnake. Coach Wood and his wife let me tag along with their party on wheels. While Coach was with his friends in the front row, I stayed behind in the seats and kept an eye on his pregnant wife. So the good pictures are the ones he took and the ones far away are mine. Good concert for a bunch of over the hill 80's hair bands. And yes, Whitesnake closed with "Here I Go Again".

101 Dalmations

Since it's Thursday, everything today will be a throw-back! Nathanael was able to particapate in the summer drama dinner theater production of "101 Dalmations" at Frontier in June. Next summer they will hopefully be able to present their summer play in the new outdoor theater, but for this summer it was inside in the gym. Nathanael did great! He was actually on stage for several minutes before I even realized it was him. He had several speaking parts that he nailed and sang several numbers with the rest of the cast. Ice cream afterwards of course!
