Vacation-Hour 1

So the vacation has started off with a bang! This afternoon was the elementary school gallery hop and guess who showed up? Grandma and grandpa Roth!! They made it in time to see Noah's artwork at the middle school, have lunch with everyone, then see the littles art and bookfair.  Here is Nathanael showing one of his pieces, while a bunch of bodyless heads look on.  Once again, we are so lucky and blessed to have the art department that we do at Frontier.

What We Saw

It was a great ride this afternoon in Greeley. Sarabeth pushed her dad 12 miles in a little over on hour. We saw lots of neat things on the trail today including:

Several dogs
Cows
A hawk
Lots and lots of bugs
Walkers
Rollerbladers
And....
A 4 FOOT SNAKE DAD ALMOST RAN OVER!!!

Ride!

20 minutes in and 4 miles down! A beautiful day on the Poudre!

Happy Easter!

Look what the Easter Bunny left in the backyard for the kids! It must have been one heck of a large egg to hide a 15 foot trampoline in. Now the discussion is whether or not to put the safety enclosure around it. Kids have been jumping for 15 minutes and there have been no tears, blood or broken bones. Yet.....

Concert

Very few schools in this country would open their 4th and 5th grade spring concert singing "Ave Regina Claeorúm", a song totally sang in Latin. We are so lucky to have such an amazing music teacher in Mr. Long.  Here is Little D getting ready to make some sweet music on the xylophone.

BOTB 2011

It was Battle of the Books 2011 at Frontier today for our favorite 4th grader. Andrew and his team have been working so hard this year, reading the required 12 books, practicing on weekends, and attempting to "repeat the feat" of winning the championship last year. Sadly isn't wasn't ment to be. The team finished third, and only the top two advance. It just goes to show how difficult it truly is to repeat as champions.

100

That is how many of her world famous breakfast burritos Jen is making tonight.  No, not for breakfast for our family in the morning. She is selling them tomorrow at Frontier as a fund raiser for the state champion academic decathalon team. They are raising money to afford the trip to nationals. Amazing effort Jen! Make sure you stop by the school early before they are all gone!!

Our Table

He is working on Noah and his hat. He made an Apple for the teacher and a motorcycle for dad.

Cute

Our oldest son being a good sport.

Andrew

His nickname was stick in the mud and his hat is a screwball. Sarabeth got butterfly wings and Nathanael an alien.

Entertainment

Funny guy making balloon animals for the kids. Note the VERY LARGE BUTTON SAYING TIPS ARE APPRECIATED. Hope the $8 I gave him was enough.

Old Spaghetti Factory!!

It is such a joy to bring my family to a place that had such special memories for our family growing up in Laramie. We haven't been here since Noah was a baby. Been way too long.

Dinosaurs

Sarabeth is upstairs with mom in the prehistoric room. That is one long tail!!

Pilot

Trying to land a space craft on the moon.

Mars!

In the space exhibit playing with some "Martian sand."

Best Part

We have arrived at grandpa Roth's favorite part: the gift shop. The exhibit was fun. Too bad pictures weren't allowed inside. Guess you will just have to visit yourself. Note Miss Stacy on the right side of the picture. A nice surprise bumping into her family in Denver!

Arrrgggg!!

Movie was great! Waiting in line now for the 3 PM start of the Pirates tour. Kids having fun. Parents haven't killed anyone yet. Good times are rolling. This is fun.

Pirates!

We have arrived in Denver for an afternoon at the DMNS. We are waiting to get into the Imax for the Everest show followed by the new Pirates exhibit. If the weather holds we might finish the day at Boondocks or the world famous Old Spaghetti Factory.
