Cancun-Wednesday

All good things come to an end. Wednesday was travel day back to America. We stopped at our favorite little coffee shop at the resort for fresh pastries, a double espresso for Ryan, and juice, before checking out. There was a little PTSD on returning to the Cancun airport, if you recall our last little adventure there. But we flew United this time, so we were pretty sure we were getting back to Denver for Thanksgiving.

Overall, it was a great trip with great friends. There were some small hiccups along the way, but international travel is never flawless. We would definitely return to this resort in the future. When we were doing “High, low, water buffalo” while waiting at the airport, everyone had something different that they enjoyed. The lazy river afternoon…the seated meals…books on the beach…friends…laughs…memories.

Cancun-Tuesday Dinner

French restaurant time for our last meal in Cancun. While at the cigar bar, we were able to reserve the private room. It was a fantastic meal (except for the lobster bisque soup). Also enjoyed a nice bottle of wine and tequila throughout dinner. We sure do clean up well!

Cancun-Tuesday

Our last full day at the resort was spent much like the others…pool, beach, food, drinks, cigars, repeat. We had some pizzas in the pool, Ryan built a fortress with tip money, glasses, rocks, and cigar bands, Jen finished another book, and fun was had by all. The guys scheduled a cigar tasting in the cigar lounge. Then it was time to get cleaned up for a fancy dinner at the French restaurant!

Cancun-Monday

Surprise! It was more of the same on Monday! Pool…ocean…food…drink…cigars…but missed the evenings entertainment. Too much fun during the day. Also, not many pictures. We did really enjoy being seated in all the restaurants, and not going through a buffet. The food was amazing! So was the service.

Cancun-Sunday

Guess left his phone in the room all day on our first full day on the beach? The same guy who is the “cruise director” and “staff photographer.” So here are a few pictures from breakfast and dinner, as well as the view from the beach. The ladies spent most of the day there, while the guys enjoyed the swim up bar, smoking a few cigars, and enjoying the 80 degrees and sunshine! We also loved the turn-down service that was waiting for us back in our room!

Cancun-Saturday Nightlife

Let the good times keep rolling! After dinner we moseyed over to the main performance area to take in the evening’s show. We played some blackjack and wandered around before the Burlesque began at 9. It was a great show. And a great end to a fun, but very long day.

Cancun-Saturday Dinner

As it turned out, our first dinner in Cancun might have been our favorite. We tried the tapas house, and were treated to so many fresh, unique, and delicious little plates. Also the wine pairings were pretty stellar. Might have also helped that we were all pretty giddy to finally be on vacation together in Mexico after over a year of planning.
