Toes

Sarabeth was hanging out with her favorite high school senior this afternoon while mom was at school grading papers. They colored and made some cupcakes. And as you can see here, did some fingernail and toe nail painting. Did Sarabeth choose just one color?? Never, she wanted ALL of them. What an amazing little girl.

Sleepover

After only 2 hours of having three of little Andrews friends over, I am so thankful we didn't have quadrupletes. Andrew is celebrating his big win on Tuesday AND, more importantly, the season finale of Star Wars: Clone Wars. Noah just left for a sleep over at his friends house. Jen is with "the littles" at the school drama production of "Into the Woods." And I'm just tired.

Challengers

Here is the victorious 3rd grade team with their coaches and the head librarian. Thank you so much for all the hard work and practice these last several months. It was really a team effort that paid off huge. Plus we love beating the other District 6 schools.

#1!

The team. Andrew showed almost no emotion when they won. He said it was because he knew they were going to win all along, so what's the big deal. I love the rock solid confidence the kid shows. What a closer!!

The Champ

So if Andrews team is the best 3rd grade team in the entire district, and he is the only boy on his team, does that make him the smartest 3rd grade boy in all of Greeley??

He won a $15 gift card to a local bookstore for all his efforts. Great job Little D!

CHAMPIONS!!

We win!! We win!! The Frontier Academy team wins the 3rd grade contest with a score of 176!!! Second place finished with 132. Amazing job team. Wow. Andrews team is the only one in the 3rd and 4th grade division to win from FCA.

Team

Here is the team between battles. It is not looking good for us at this point. We were destroyed in the first battle. Need to bat almost 1.000 in order to even place.

Cold

Getting colder here at Coors Field. At least in the low 40's with a 10-15 MPH breeze blowing from right to left. Corpas has struck out 4 of the 6 betters he has faced. Still down 5-2.

$10.75

Bottom 2nd

Here's Tulo, our family's favorite player. Hammel looks terrible tonight. He has thrown 48 pitches, and Rox are down 5-1. Let's get some runs! At least the seats are amazing. Front row, 3rd base line.

Fun with Food

If you know our family, you know what a big deal food/meals/snacks are. Well tonight we introduced the kids to fresh artichokes. We had no idea how they would like it. Let's just say they ate them up like candy. Or as Sarabeth said, "it feels like its dancing on my tongue." Andrew just announced he wants to have all his friends over on Friday to have a party and eat artichokes. I think at this point Andrew has eaten an entire one all on his own.

Playtime!

After a great church service at our new church we have been trying out, and a little brunch, it was time to play with the birds! Andrew has been doing a great job taking care of them. We have discovered one is very nice and let's the kids hold her and the other is a mean son of a gun. Here is one of its favorite pass times when out of the cage: pecking/pulling and Andrews glasses. How cute huh?

Period 5, Week 1

Finally the end of a crappy week. The two days of rain then 40 MPH winds didn't help anything. Business is terrible right now. I think people are just running out of money for "premium" products like $4 bags of chips.

This is the lone highlight of the week. I placed a 9 foot under counter rack at my Western. The route only ran $15,154 on a $16,523 plan, missing by $1,368. Stale was a bit high at $600. Only 22 more years until retirement.

Fish and Chips

This is the beautiful parking lot at Frito after a rain storm. We have some sort of drainage problem that costs well over half a million dollars to fix. Since that is never going to happen, we just suffer through 2 feet of water several times a year.

Folklore has it that one flood was so bad the retention pond next door that was filled with fish overflowed into our lot. The local paper featured a picture similar to this one with the title of this post. No fish today though sadly.

Presents!

Grandma opening all her presents on a beautiful night in Colorado. The party is a bit more under control at this point. We are sad Grandpa Jim is on the road tonight and can't join us.

Happy Birthday!

We are having a crazy celebration in honor of Grandma Janets 28th birthday. The party is getting kind of out of hand at this point. I think someone called the police. Maybe the fire department. Happy birthday to my all time favorite mother-in-law!

Poudre Trail

Since it was such a beautiful day outside, and since Sarabeth loves biking so much, I decided to take her on a longer ride and see how she did. So we packed up our bikes and headed over to the beautiful Poudre River Trail. We rode for a little under an hour and did 10.6 miles. She had a blast and is already asking when we can ride again. Maybe her and I will be able to ride the Elephant Rock together on June 6??? I think her and I could knock off the 32 mile course.

Spring Sing

The kids are all so lucky to have such a dedicated music/art department at the school. Noah and Andrew's spring concert was an amazing performance. All the songs were written/based on the kids work and set to music by a local composer. They even produced their own "commercial" for a local business in town. It really was an amazing performance. It is cute to see one of the boys really get into the singing, and one of them who only goes because it is required. Can you guess which one is which??

Sheep Farm

One of the nice parts about having a weekday off is the opportunity I have had to attend several of Sarabeth's field trips this year. A couple of weeks ago we traveled to a local farm where they raise sheep. It was quite dirty experience for the kids! We got to see several baby sheep that were only a couple of hours old, new baby kittens, and Sarabeth even got to help give medicine to a sick sheep. The kids all had a great time and even posed for a few "class photos." And yes Aunt Kim, it is Deere.

AWANA Games

Every year, the local AWANA Clubs in the area get together and compete against one another in the various games they play every week at club. Nathanael was very excited to compete in his very first Games this past weekend. The Mountain View team did amazing and won 1st place!! Nathanael got to run the anchor leg of the "jungle run." He was also part of the team in the balloon pass. Awesome job Natedogg!

More AWANA Games

Here are a few pictures from the AWANA Games. We just need to find some time to get the patch sewed onto Nathanael's vest. What a great job he did.
