Bonfire

A big thanks to Grandpa Jim and Grandma Janet for the hot dog and hamburger donation for the first ever high school bonfire and cookout last week at school. Of course Mrs. Roth was one of the sponsors/adult supervisors for the night and somehow I ended up there and supplied more chips and drinking water. Noah used his mad grilling skills for cook the food. Overheard quite a few kids say how much fun it was and maybe one of the funnest things they had done as a school all year.

Workin' Man

When he isn't rocking that 32 on the ACT or wearing his Editor-in-Chief hat for the yearbook, he can be found humbly making delicious burgers for your enjoyment at Steak-N-Shake. Tom and his family stopped by for a bite to eat and were able to capture a picture with him. Jen and I also were able to spot him last week.

Hippie

Sarabeth closed out her elementary years will the traditional reading of "Oh the Places You'll Go" by her favorite librarian followed by the 5th grade balloon launch. It all happened on Hippie Feel Good Day. She received her Homegrown award, and was recognized for setting the all-time 5th grade Reading Counts record with 1959 points and the all-time words read record with 7.9 million. Yes MILLION. Nice job sweetheart. Onto middle school for you!

Toby

Noah continues his great month of award winning. At the awards night his not only earned two more letters for band and academics, but he was awarded "Best Boy" for the junior class. It was a pretty special and pretty prestigious award that is voted on by his teachers. He capped off the week by posting a 32 on the ACT. Oh, and was also just selected as the incoming senior class president. Not a bad month for our soon-to-be SENIOR!

Last day of 7th grade! Nathanael received an award at awards night for his leadership in orchestra. While not mentioned during the ceremony, he was also selected as one of only 15 7th graders in Greeley to attend the Young RYLA conference in Larkspur later this summer. What a great opportunity to build and strengthen his leadership skills! Congrats Nathanael and welcome to your last year of middle school!

D

Last day of school for the high school kids! Good time to wrap things up. Andrew was awarded the "Deep Thinker Award" at awards night several weeks ago. Rocked the purple shirt pretty hard too. Andrew also received the two letters he earned this year: one in band and one in academics. Time to shop for your letter jacket! Welcome to your sophomore year Little D!

Estes Park

It was the fourth, and for our family the final, 5th grade overnight trip to the YMCA in Estes Park. Sis had a great time celebrating the classes soon departure from elementary school and big adventures that await them in middle school. Great pictures our friend Holly took for us!

Piano

Sarabeth had her first solo piano recital today. She played four songs in front of about 50 people. She nailed it. She introduced herself, said what she was going to play, then proceeded to play her songs flawlessly. Another proud moment in a great spring!

NHS

Noah was inducted into the National Honor Society tonight at a ceremony in Greeley. He joins many of his friends and girlfriend Shayla in the prestigious organization. His mom was able to be his marshal and pin him as he was introduced. Congratulations Noah!
