Baseball!

The gang got to see a pretty exciting game today! Todd Helton tied it
up 4-4 in the bottom of the 8th with a grand slam!! In extra innings
the Rockies faltered though, and ended up losing 6-5 in 11 innings.
Brock, Meriah, and Jen's co-worker Kristin joined the group.

Listening

Grandpa listening to another story from his favorite grand daughter.
Glad the roads from Wyoming were open this weekend so they could make
it down for the Gallery Hop. Now if it just wasn't so windy...

Art-Noah

The middle school and high school gallery hop last night was amazing.
The teachers do such a stupendous job every year setting up,
displaying, and selling the kids art. It's neat to see some of the
projects Noah will be working on in years to come. Here is just one of
several pieces that were on display.

Cooks!

Noah and Nate helping out the tired parents on Monday night. They did
a great job making BBQ meatballs, noodles and a salad. Didn't even
need help from mom or dad. Might become a weekly thing!

Throwback Thursday

Since there was quite a bit of action that happened in our family
before the invention of Campingdad, I thought I would begin a new
series on Thursday's. Call in Throwback Thursdays. I'll take a look in
the Roth family picture vault and select a fun picture of the group
from years past. Hope you enjoy!

This is from the first ever "mancation" to the Grand Canyon and Arches
National Parks in 2006? Might be 2007. Enjoy.

Preview-Nathanael

Here is one of several pieces Nathanael will be showing. All the kids
have enjoyed the Arts department so much this year. If you are in the
area Saturday morning, stop by and see some amazing artwork!

Preview-Andrew

The highly anticipated, always entertaining, Frontier Academy Gallery
Hop is this weekend. Due to the time change, I will not be able to
attend. So yesterday I snapped a few pictures of several pieces the
kids will be showing. Here is Andrew's take on the Mona Lisa.

Lunch-Little D

Fifth graders arrive for lunch at 11:20. Andrew was disappointed I
didn't bring him lunch. I do like the odds at his lunch table: 9 girls
to 3 boys. He is his fathers son, that's for sure. In art class
yesterday, Andrew asked the substitute teacher, "Since we aren't
learning anything, can we go home?"

Style

The 1st grader has really developed her own sense of style this year,
while working within the confines of the dress code. I had a great
time yesterday, spending all day at school as the Watch Dog. I helped
in class, monitored the campus, helped at lunch, and worked the
parking lot during drop off and pick up. By the way, what is Sister
missing in this picture?

13 Weeks

Baxter is large and in charge at his 13 week check up. He is at 21
pounds. Also got a shot today. We discovered that he DOES NOT like his
leash. He just sat down and refused to move. So we carried him. Pretty
good deal for Baxter.

Jazz!

Thanks again to Big Andrew for the invite last night to the UNC Jazz
Festival after hours jam band. It was neat to see and hear the amazing
musicians that UNC has. Even though we only stayed until 12:15, it was
fun.

WBN 2012

My books arrived! Back in February I applied to be a book giver for
the first ever World Book Night. My application was accepted and
anticipation has been building. Finally last week I was notified my
case of books were ready to be picked up. Please check out
www.worldbooknight.org for more information. Should be fun on Monday
night!

Wings!

Long week for the Frontier family as a very special 10th grader passed
away on Tuesday night. So after the viewing tonight that Jen attended,
it was time to bring a little happiness to the family: wings! We
polished off 75 of those little suckers in addition to a huge bucket
of fries and soda. Everyone, including Andrew's friend Andrew, left
full.

Wheels!

Last night at AWANA was Wheelie-Dealie night. Everyone was encouraged to bring wheels to use during game time. Sarabeth brought her scooter, boys brought bikes. Thanks to Big Andrew for bringing all the bikes and kids in his car!

Winning

Been a good start to 2012 on Route 96830.  Instead of shirts or pants this year, Top Cat award comes with a SIZEABLE cash prize. But its awarded in an AMEX gift card. That won't arrive for 2-3 weeks. And not many places take AMEX. But Starbucks does.

Teeth

Dental health is something that is so important to ALL members of the family. Our dentist Dr. McGuffey and our vet would be pleased.

BOTB

Missed posting this several weeks ago. Both Andrew and Nathanael had been working hard on their Battle of the Books team since December. They read the 10 books on the list, practiced with their teams, and studied possible questions. Sadly, neither team qualified for district competition this year. Here is Nathanael's team "Book Dogs" getting ready. They are on the right. Nathanael is in the light blue shirt looking at the camera.

Club

Reading is quite a popular activity at the Roth household. With the amount of time we have spent reading to the children since they were born coupled with the Reading Counts program at Frontier, its no wonder the kids devour books by the arm full. So this past Sunday I decided to try out a Roth family Book Club. On Sunday nights, everyone is going to bring to the dinner table whatever book they are reading that week. Then they will get to share with the family what they are learning from their book. We had a great discussion and will try it again this week!

Family

Hard to believe the vacation is already over in a matter of hours. It's been a good week, and most of the items on the to-do list have been completed. Here is the Roth Family 11 picture from Easter Sunday.

Little D

Andrew is in the mountains for a few days with his friend Levi. He called me last night to say goodnight and called again this morning to say hello and that they have to poop in a hole. And that its windy. I suggested he not let the wind blow him into the poop hole. More timeless wisdom from a father to a son.

Cards!

Even though we couldn't spend Easter with Grandma Janet and Grandpa Jim, they sent each of the kids a very nice Easter card with something special inside. Thanks! And yes, Noah got his too, but was at a friends house at the time the picture was taken.

Wow!

Rockies score 7 in the bottom of the fifth over the course of almost an hour and strengthen the lead, 16-7. Rockies have 19 hits. Amazing.

Blackhawk

While the Rockies are busy giving up 7 runs in the fourth, the EOV is going great. Girls got all dressed up after their spa day and are enjoying dinner. While I'm typing this, the Rockies just scored 3 more runs and retook the lead 9-7. Crazy.

Fun!!

The Rockies are running around the bases like its Tball season. Linscome just got yanked after 2 1/3 innings. In the picture are Cargo on third with Tulo batting. Rockies up 6-0 with the bases loaded!

Coors Field!

Made it to Denver for the second Rockies game of the year. Hopefully we have a better result tonight and this Rockies fan can smile. Looking good so far, Rockies beating the World Series champs 2-0 top 2nd.

Birthday!

We celebrated grandpa's birthday at Cerona Village on Saturday night. The highlight of the meal is wearing the birthday sombrero and being sung to. Just try not to think about how many other people have wore it, and you will be ok. Happy birthday dad!

Fast

With a look of determination, Noah continues the last leg of his race. I think the haircut in Laramie shaved a few seconds off his time today, pardon the pun.

E.O.V.

It appears that the Educators on Vacation are settling into their digs this evening in the mountains of Colorado. The exact location of their destination will remain undisclosed. But it starts with a B and ends in hawk. Have fun ladies and good luck!

Meanwhile...

Back in Greeley, the Littles and I are rocking some Cold Stone Creamery. Noah is running in the second track meet of the year in Ft. Collins, and Andrew is at his BFF's house.

****Update**** Noah runs three events tonight, including WINNING his 200m heat in 29 secons. Also runs strong in the medley and 4x100.  Only 30ish Frontier kids made the meet since its spring break.

Nurse

Had the chance to stop by the nurses office at LHS this morning to bring mom a breakfast burrito. She was as busy as ever, seeing almost 30 kids in the 90 minutes I was sitting and visiting with her.

Climb

In the front yard climbing the massive tree in grandpa and grandmas front yard. Been a great first day of vacation. Sadly, the Sturgis Roths had to leave and head home. It was great seeing the family of three. Kaleb is changing so much. Can't wait to see them again in June!

Beef

Yep, it's what for dinner. Sort of a non-traditional Easter dinner including these beautiful riveted, pasta salad with shrimp, fresh fruit with dip, rolls, corn, and lots and lots of dirty dishes. It was almost nice enough in Laramie today to eat outside. Almost.

Cousins!

Post-church, pre-hunt picture of the cousins. Sarabeth was so proud of her new Easter dress. And Noah sure does look hansom when he decides to not wear a hoodie.

Hunt!!

The Easter egg hunt is in full progress. Grandpa is somehow sneaking the eggs out of the kids baskets and rehiding them. Kaleb is figuring out this whole find the plastic egg thing pretty quick.

Set....

Listening to the rules and regulations prior to the beginning of the hunt.

Waiting...

To be found/captured/recovered.  The egg hunt is about to begin!

Eggs!

It's that time of year again already. Kids did a nice job decorating a few eggs today. We even got Noah out of the basement for a little bit. Oh, and vacation #1 of 2012 has begun. Time to let the good times roll.  Off to Wyoming!

Jump!

Big D stopped by last night for dinner. After we ate an amazing meal prepared by Mrs. Roth, the kids talked him into jumping on the trampoline for a little bit. Thankfully, he didn't throw up.  Hope it was a nice little break from the doctorate studies.

Yogurt!!

After picking yo little D from battle of the books practice, he asked if we could stop for frozen yogurt on the way home. What better thing to do in Greeley on the hottest day so far in 2012? Gotta love TCBY! Plus, its lots cheaper to just take one child then four.
