Period 6, Week 2

Well, at least that's over. As a quick update to the market tour, it went great. The tour group consisted of 3 district sales leaders, the zone business manager, the zone sales leader, and the mountain region vice-president. I had a nice talk with her at my Western Convince, and she was pleased with how my stores looked.

Business finally picked up on Thursday, and it was crazy busy the rest of the week. If some product I ordered wouldn't have been cut by the warehouse, I would have made plan. Regardless, I still ran $25,496 on a $25,825 plan, a miss of only $328. I guess I should have worked just a bit harder than the 60 hours I turned in.

Market Tour

As if this week at Frito isn't busy enough, today is the annual Memorial Day Market Tour. This is when all the managers/VIP's drive around Northern Colorado and look at different stores. There is a lot of pressure to have each store "gold standard" and "bag tight" and "more pounds on the floor." The 10-14 of them will tour between 2 and 3 of my stores. Bring it on.

Rednecks

Yep, we use wheel barrows for chairs in this family. Actually, I was too lazy to get more chairs out of the camper. We are enjoying the evening with our good friends Ryan and Hannah Shaw. We have know Hannah since she was 9, and we were all in their wedding last summer. If the wind dies down a bit, maybe I will start up the fire pit.

Great Grandpa

Here is Sarabeth and her last living great grandparent Morgan. He is Grandma Janet's dad. Sarabeth has been asking to meet him for quite awhile. And you know that girl. Once she gets a thought in her head, its like a steel trap. So today she was finally able to meet him again.

Greeley Tribune

For the first time since October 20, 2000, Andrew got some ink in the local newspaper. And not just ink, but a picture too!! There was a nice story yesterday about their big win at the Battle of the Books. Once again, great job Andrew!

Period 6, Week 1

To answer the question, not much/enough evidently. Lots of changes this week at work, as my old boss was let go and we have a new boss that was assigned to the district 10 days before our Memorial Day market tour. Lots of stress. Not much business. Eked out $16,330 on a $20,631 plan, missing by only $4,300. Ouch. Staled out $346 in product. Double ouch. Bring on the busiest week of the year.

Campingdad

Here is a guest appearance from the blogmeister himself. Thanks to Big D for helping man the S'mores table and sharp sticks. If we don't end up in the ER tonight with either 3rd degree burns or a puncture wound, I will be thankful.

Fire!!

What an amazing night. Clear, a bit breezy, and just chilly enough to make the fire feel good.

S'mores

Now the party is a rockin'. End of school party has begun. Family, friends, beer, marshmallows. The question now is whether or not we will end up with one edible s'more. The kids seem to enjoy just burning the marshmallows to a crisp.

Success! We have lift off of the first fire pit of the 2010 season! Just waiting for Big Andrew to show up so we can enjoy some flaming Andrews.

The Gratuate

Sarabeth finished her preschool year today, and graduates to Frontier Academy in the fall. We were so thankful that Grandma Janet was able to attend the little ceremony Stacy had for Sarabeth. The card and roses were a really special touch. It has been a great 3 years at A Child's Wonder. Here is the poem Stacy included in Sarabeth's bag:

A penny because you are valuable and special.
A star to remind you to always shine.
An eraser because its ok to make mistakes.
A pencil to help you with your writing and to remind you to stay sharp.
A bookmark for all the great books you will read.
I wish you all the best in Kindergarten!
Love Ms. Stacy

"Miss" Stacy

It has been such an amazing blessing to have Stacy teach two of our kids. We are so thankful for the love, encouragement, teaching, support, and patience she has had with our family and Sarabeth. Thank you for preparing our daughter to have a successful year as she begins kindergarten next year.

More Storm

Power back on. Raining hard again. Lots of thunder and lightening. I knew I should have cleaned out those gutters last weekend. Thankfully no more water in the basement (yet??). My back door neighbor is shoveling off his roof and trying to get the junk outta his gutters.

Doozy

It was quite a storm that just blew through our little town. The white stuff is what's left of the hail, a bit larger than pea size. Of course the basement flooded, not much, but enough to be annoying. Thankfully we missed the two tornados that touched down east and west of us. Still raining. Cold. Power just went out. God Bless my blackberry.

Field Day 2010

On the second-to-last day of school, the tradition at Frontier is a Field Day. It is an afternoon of games, fun in the sun, and, most importantly, the signing of the t-shirts. Every kid has a "Field Day 2010" shirt and a Sharpie, and asks friends and teachers to sign their shirt. It is a huge deal, and a neat way to remember the school year. So, here are the "perps," as seen from the front. The kid on the right seems to be growing like a weed.

And the Back

I don't think Noah is smiling in this one. Hard to believe the school year in over tomorrow at 12:30.

More Awards

The final AWANA was last Wednesday. It was the yearly awards night celebration and graduation. Jim and Janet joined us as we celebrated the amazing jobs the kids did learning their Bible verses throughout the year. Sarabeth will be moving up to Sparks next year, after her two years in Cubbies. Andrew will stay in T & T, while Nathanael will stay in Sparks. Noah will begin attending the youth group at Journey Christian Church. What a great year at AWANA.

Picnic

To celebrate Sarabeth's last day of pre-school today, we decided on a picnic in the park. We were going to do a bike ride, but dad's knees are a bit sore from yesterday. So we picked up some McDonalds and headed to the park near our house. Beautiful spring day here in Colorado, with a light breeze and temps in the upper 60's. Maybe on our next park trip, I should plan ahead a little bit and not have Sarabeth in a skirt. I'll miss our daddy/daughter afternoons this summer, but hope we can start them again in August!

Hair!!

Little Andrew also wanted to get his hair fixed for today. Noah didn't. Too cool I guess. Hard to believe the school year is over at 12:30 on Wednesday.

Crazy. Hair. Day.

Guess who was most excited about Crazy Hair Day at school?? Guess who had mom drive to 3 different stores yesterday in order to find the right hair color?? Yep, this guy.

Period 5, Week 4

And so ends another period. Gearing up for Period 6, which is always one of the busiest of the year. Finished the week at $16,177 on a $18,153 plan, missing by $1,976. I did hit my unsalables plan by running a .2 on a .4 plan.

Happy Birthday!

All of us here at Campingdad would like to wish our Aunt/Sister-in-Law Kim a very Happy Birthday!! We hope its an amazing day filled with laughter, joy and celebration. And we hope the cake Wes baked turned out OK. Or at least edible.

Home Grown

Noah was also recognized at todays all school assembly. He was given the "Home Grown" award, which is presented to students who have attended Frontier every year, from Kindergarten through 5th grade. Way to go Noah!

Nathanael Gallery Hop 2010

Here are a few pieces from Nathanael. I love the self-portrait that was done in 3-D. And the expression on Nathanael's face is priceless. Thanks again to both sets of grandparents for making it a priority to be here. Thank you also for the neat books that were purchased for the kids at the book fair. It will give them a great start on the summer reading program.

Andrew Gallery Hop 2010

Andrew also had some amazing pieces to show. The creativity these kids posses is boundless.
