Harvest Party

There are going to be a lot of lasts and finals this year at the elementary school and Sarabeth finishes up 5th grade and moves to middle school next year. Yesterday was one of those finals. It was the final Harvest Party I'll get to attend as a parent. Andrew and I caught up with the 5th graders while they were playing games out on the playground. Sisters class won and got to dig into the treats first!

BFG-2

Sarabeth was in two different production nights, Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Jen, Noah and Nathanael attended the Friday night show and Andrew, grandma and grandpa Roth and I attended Saturday. Sis was on stage for several minutes before I realized it was her! By the end, you could tell she was pretty warm under her consume and facial hair. So proud of the great job she! Can't wait for the spring production.

BFG-1

Sarabeth was selected for one of the lead rolls in the fall drama production of the "BFG (Big Friendly Giant)". She did a tremendous job of studying her lines, attending all her rehearsals and encouraging her fellow cast members. Here is the program for the production.

Just Fishin'

Noah snagged three fish yesterday at Carter Lake on a beautiful fall afternoon with the girlfriend, and her mom and step dad. Nice work son.

Remembering

Well friends, it's been three years ago today (TBT!) since I had that pesky cancer removed. It was hard to see the forrest from the trees sometimes as I was traveling that road for those two years, but as I have time to reflect upon it tonight what I feel mostly is thankfulness. Thankfulness for the doctors and medical professionals who guided my treatment. Thankfulness for living in a country that has the best medical care in the history of the world. Thankfulness for a God who didn't leave me nor foresake me when I did to Him. I am also so thankful for YOU! For the acts of kindness and generosity you showed to my family and I. For the prayers and encouragement through some very dark days. For Facebook posts and little notes. For doing things for Jen and the kids when I couldn't. It is with a greatful  heart that I post this tonight. I wouldn't be the person I am today without the support and kindness  YOU showed my family and I. Thank you.

Sock Hop

The annual middle school sock hop/costume dance was last weekend at Frontier. It was co-sponsored by the yearbook and the basketball team. So while Jen was running the dance, I was in charge of the 7 15 year old "boys" who were at our house for Andrews birthday. Sadly, I don't have a single picture from the party. But here is Nathanael and his friend Sean dressed up as ghosts for the dance.

Family Fun

In kind of a quirky coincidence, all six of us were together at home on Saturday afternoon with nothing planned. So after much heated discussion, we decided on a trip to Ft. Collins and an afternoon at Fort Fun. We were even able to bring Shayla with us! It was a perfect fall day for mini-golf. We think Noah won. After a "snack" of soda, several large fries, and loaded nachos, the kids played a round of laser tag. Nathanael was pretty close to winning. I hope we will have more Saturday's like this when the new route starts next month.

15

Happy birthday Little Andrew. Hard to believe you will be driving a car with your learners permit later this week. We are so proud of the man you are becoming. We love you!

Homecoming Pictures

Finally getting around to posting pictures of the big dance this past weekend. Noah and Shayla attended with a group of their friends and enjoyed the after dance get-together at our house. Must have been a pretty great night/early morning because there were still kids sleeping at noon when I got home from work. This was also the first year that Andrew could attend Homecoming as a Freshman! After pictures with Noah's group, he joined up with a different group of freshman and enjoyed dinner at Coyotes with them before attending the dance.

Homecoming Prince

Congratulations to Noah and his girlfriend Shalya  on their selection by their peers as Homecoming Prince and Princess for the Junior class! It was a pretty special night last night as their names were announced as the winners at the Homecoming volleyball game. Take good care of your crown and sash son!
