Axes

We seem to be supporting Matt Estrin’s businesses quite a bit this spring. To celebrate Jamie and Kristie’s April birthdays, we rented a few lanes and were joined by Greg and Vicky for some axe throwing shenanigans! Some of us even hit a bullseye. Others missed their wife and didn’t.

Greeley Mob Mixer!

I was able to co-host Greeley’s newest networking event last night, the Greeley Mob Mixer! We had no idea if 10 people or 100 people would show up, and were pleased we had a crowd of about 40 gather at BRIX. Lots of friends and familiar faces who were thrilled to be gathering in person again. Until the Greeley Chamber starts up After Hours again, we are the only game in town. We even game away silly door prizes like a Men in Black VCR tape and a bat signed by the 4 co-hosts. Next even June 30 at the Hatchet House.

Tasting

Our little “bubble” has been hanging out quite a bit since our friends moved in across the street. We gather every Friday night for a little F.A.C. To mix things up a little bit, we designed a whisky tasting event with about 25 different selections. We were each given a sheet with the description of the bottle, then we tasted it and tried to guess which one it was. I tied for first with 3 right. We obviously aren’t as smart as we think we are.

Tour

I had the privilege last week of being invited on a VIP tour of the new student center on the Aims Community College campus. We have been watching it get built over the past year, and are excited to see the completed building in December. Thank you to my friend and ED of the Aims CC Foundation Kelly for the invite. I’m glad my friend Ben could join me.

Home

Mom had not been back to Laramie since last fall at the peak of the fires. So we made plans to make a quick trip home to check on everything and see what’s new north of the boarder. Thankfully everything looked good at the cemetery. It appears the tree will make it! It’s always emotional to visit dad.

We made a few other stops including Coal Creek, the natural grocery store, and a drive by of 179, 1626 and the ever expanding University of Wyoming. It was a good trip.

Letter Winner

Congrats to Sis on her achievement of a 3.5 GPA or better for three semesters! More swag for that Letter Jacket!

Junk

Dad would have loved being in town for the annual Greeley Clean Up Weekend. We spent the better part of two days cleaning up around the house, loading stuff into the truck and transporting it across town to dump. Ended up taking three trips, which took about an hour each. Thanks to mom for the help and encouragement!

Ambassadors Live!

We are also finally back in person for our Greeley Chamber Ambassador team! It’s the first time the entire group has been together since I won AOTY(more on that later). How much fun is it to gather together again, plan for the month ahead, have a few drinks, laugh and enjoy one another’s company???

Fancy

The first large, in-person fundraiser took place on May 2 at the DoubleTree. It was an event for the Boys and Girls Clubs of Weld County, of which I had been asked to serve on both the Elegant Night committee and the Great Futures board. It was fun to get all dressed up (yes, the dress clothes still fit), head downtown, and gather with 370 other well-dressed folks. I was pleased the Welch’s could join us!

Out and About

Things are opening up! And with that, the chance to network, connect, and grow my personal and professional relationships. Our Greeley Chamber Leads group in back in person at 477 Distilling every other Thursday...

I’ve also become a regular attended of the monthly NoCo Style magazine release party happy hour. This month we were able to hang out on the rooftop patio. There was a live DJ, drinks and music trivia..

But it’s not all play and no work. Served our community with my fellow Rotarians at the Weld Food Bank and packed onions!

I was also invited by my friend Sonny to attend the monthly gathering of LULAC at Kennys Steakhouse. The guest speaker was the sergeant in charge of the Weld County Jail. Interesting stuff!

Patio

I absolutely love our backyard and our back patio. I love even more that it’s east facing, so its nice and cool in the evening. We welcomed everyone over Mother’s Day weekend for a cookout, drinks and later on, cigars for the dads and popsicles for the kiddos. Cheers to the summer ahead!

Mother’s Day

It was a lively Mother’s Day weekend at 3106, with J and J in town, the boys and their girlfriends stripping by from time to time, and spending evenings on the patio with Welch’s. Andrew made a very nice breakfast for everyone, then we got our work on in the front yard. Jen is making our house our home, and decided to start with refreshing the landscaping in the front yard and planting new flowers in the back.

It’s also so nice to have mom in town and able to join us!
