Morp

Frontier pushed MORP back a week due to last weeks blizzard. So tonight is the big night. Jen went all out and made Noah an his date a beautiful home cooked meal. I love their matching outfits. Leave room for the Holy Ghost kids!

Neil!

For me, there is nothing quite like meeting one of your favorite authors and getting their book signed. Bonus points if they inscribe it to you. So it was with much joy that I learned Old Firehouse Books in Ft. Collins had won the Neil Gaiman signing for his new book "Trigger Warning."  Joy!

Several friends made the trek to Ft. Collins and waited in line with several thousand other folks for 6 1/2 hours for the privilege of meeting @neilhimself. He drove right by where we were standing when he arrived. Several hours later, we met him. And he didn't just sign one copy. He signed 4. And personalized them. Just incredible. And he allowed families with small kids to cut to the front of the line so they could meet him and get on home. It was quite an evening. He said on Twitter the next day that he stayed until 315 AM signing stuff. And that everything hurt.

Divas

Before the Blizzard of 2015 blew in this afternoon, the Frontier OPT hosted a pancake breakfast to help raise funds for the school. Several very well know and famous people were guest servers/hosts. Here is a picture that was captured during a break in the action.

Self

Nathanael loves all aspects of the Frontier Drama, Arts, Music department. This past week in art, they worked on self  portraits. He did a pretty great job.

Singing

Fourth grade concert last night. Thankful grandma Janet was in town and was able to attend as well! How about that hair?

Big Day!

It's always a big day in a young mans life when he gets his first car. Noah has been looking for several months for just the right car. Something affordable, safe. And hopefully low mileage. Well, last week we found one. He is now the proud owner of a 1999 Buick LeSabre. Only 135,000 miles! Freedom!

Wiley

Sometimes a Sunday afternoon without football for the first time since July just needs some Wiley Roots. So while Noah was at bible study, the kids and I enjoyed several beers, root and otherwise. Some popcorn and fooseball also improved the afternoon. Andrew sure looks sharp in his new haircut.

Dance

The annual daddy/daughter dance was held a couple weekends ago. This has become a tradition for sister and I each year. This was our sixth dance, and it gets better every year. Sarabeth decided on Tokyo Joes again for dinner. We made it to the dance a few minutes early and were in the front of the line for the picture. Then it was dancing, talking, a light snack and wonderful memories together. She is already looking forward to next year. Great job helping select the dress grandma Janet! She was just beautiful.

Bible Quiz

Every year our local AWANA club participates in the Bible Quiz along with several other churches in Northern Colorado. This year Sarabeth decided she wanted to be apart of the team. So every Saturday morning for the past 5 weeks, she has gathered with her team at Mountain View for a 90 minute practice. Yesterday was the competition. Sisters team placed second! Thanks as always to the amazing leaders for coaching them up. Job well done.

X-Games

Late last fall, we learned that the Counter Strike World Championships would be played in conjunction with ESPN's Winter X-Games. What's Counter Strike? A new version of snowboarding? Skiing? Nope. Video game. And it was a VERY BIG DEAL that not only was it being played right here in America, but only a couple hours drive away in Aspen.

So for Christmas, Andrew recieved a ticket to attend the big event. His friend Paul and him were driven up to Aspen by Jen for a weekend of immersion in the Counter Strike culture. Andrew was pretty nervous about the chance to meet his favorite team, "Cloud 9", but not only did he meet them, but he got his swag bag signed (and maybe some gaming tips?)

While he favorite team couldn't pull out the win, the guys really had a blast. Andrew said it was one of the greatest weekends of his life.

Crazy Hat

The annual AWANA crazy hat and hair night was Wednesday at club. Sarabeth asked if she could wear the warrior helmet I earned last summer at Warrior Dash. I think she was the only one there with one on. Future Warrior in training?

Halftime

We have two more winners! Noah selected his prize after Katy Perry came out with dark hair. Nathanael wins again by correctly guessing the first song that she would sing, "Roar." Still several prizes to give away later in the game and maybe even tomorrow. Hard to believe the Seahawks might win back-to-back championships. Great commercials tonight too.

Prop Bets

Super Bowl 49 is underway and we have the first two prop bet winners! Sarabeth predicted the length of the national anthem at 2:04 and Nathanael was closest on the combined score at the end of the first quarter. He said 7, score is 0-0. We have all agreed that the Super Bowl is a lot more fun when we don't care about the teams in it. Best commercial so far? Maybe the Skittles one? Here are the possible prizes the winners have to choose from and the food spread for the game. Love that Wing Shack!
