Cuba!

Sometimes you are very lucky and have very good friends that travel the world. And sometimes those friends think of you while they are visiting those places. My friend Dudley is one of those guys. He beat the president to Cuba by about a week for a pastor training conference. While he was there, he picked up a bag of Cuban coffee for me. Tried it today. Pretty great stuff. Thanks my friend!

Easter 2016

Other then having to put in a day on the route and missing church with the family, Easter this year was pretty swell. Jennifer got the kids to church, they turned in their mission application and payment to save their spots (more in that later), then she came home and went right to work on a beautiful Easter dinner. The folks were able to join us for the afternoon since the roads were open! While we enjoyed the ham, Jen had herself some crab legs. Mom brought three different pies for dessert. Dad and Sarabeth made name cards while dinner was cooking. We even worked in a small (8 total eggs) Easter egg hunt. While not as challenging as in past years, the kids enjoyed it. Ryan even found a time to use his selfie-stick! And too soon, it was over and the folks headed home and it was get time to get ready for work.

Rollin'

Finally, 5 months after the kid turned 15, he decided he was ready to begin driving. So we spent 45 minutes together driving loops around Frontier Academy and the surrounding neighborhood. We took a break and checked on mom who is trying to put the middle school yearbook to bed this afternoon. Then I let D drive us home. We made it. Only 49 hours and 15 minutes left to get before October.

Box

Quality mail arrived at 3106 yesterday from Wyoming! Thanks G and G for the Easter surprises! Chocolate bunnies! No bakes! And a very special Easter tin that was grandma Billies years ago. There were also 6 magicial eggs that will be hidden on Sunday!

Snow

Been a wild week here in Colorado. The first picture was taken at the high school on Tuesday night. I was making repairs to our Booster Club sign in anticipation of the small storm that was forecast to develop the next day. The second picture was how thrilled I was at 730 the next morning to be driving my truck through the third picture. Thankfully school was called off. Frito was too, kind of. After I had already been at work for 4 hours. So I slogged my way through the rest of the work day and finished the route. Gold star for Ryan.

Countdown...

Developing...#mancation2016 #NYC

Uh-Oh

Just another Thursday on the old chip route. Speeding? Selling extra extra hot Cheetos without a license? No, just working while Lovelands finest ticketed an abandoned truck out back of Safeway. Gotta take advantage of the photo oops when I can.

Eagles

Of the Colorado variety. Thanks to the Youngs for the invite to sit in the suite to watch the Eagles beat Utah 4-3 in a pretty exciting game! We brought our budding hockey fan along with us to enjoy the game. She even invested some of her babysitting money in a new Eagles hoodie! And while Wendi was taking the girls down to the ice for chuck-a-puck, they got to ride the elevator with The Eagle! Two hockey games for Sarabeth, and two pictures with the mascots!

Kids!

Or maybe young adults would be better? We had the opprotunity to host Nathanael's group of friends this afternoon between their drama FFS practice and the trip to the movies. They are quite a cute group of friends that get along so well with one another. Thanks Jen for lunch and getting them to the show! She looks thrilled with my new selfie stick that I got in anticipation of #mancation2016.

Busy

Just another busy weekend in our family of moving people around so they can get to all their activities. Jim was in town Thursday night before leaving for Nebraska for the weekend. He left Janet to stay with us, which was very helpful! Sis and I had our fun on Friday while Jen did credit recovery and then ACT Prep. Nathanael headed to friends house for a movie afternoon and walk to the park. Andrew spent all day Saturday in Strassburg with the AccaDecca team. Noah had a full day of work Saturday. Jen and I listened to the boys game with Kristy and Mav Friday night and joined them again Saturday night with Millmans at Weldwerks. Sarabeth has started babysitting on Thursday and Friday nights for about 6 hours. On Saturday, Nathanael and I managed to get away for a quick lunch at Right Coast and a stop at Nerd Store. And now it's Sunday again, and I'm back at work. And Peyton Manning will retire tomorrow as a Bronco.

Frontier Times

Another issue of the Frontier Times was published last week. Sarabeth made the issue several times. Once for her Reading Counts points and one in the background of the picture for Aladdin. Nice work sis!

1400...

And counting! Sarabeth and I celebrated her 1400 Reading Counts points today with a trip to Starbucks and then the Chapungu Sculpture Park at Centerra. It was a perfect day for the walk/hike with a slight breeze and a party cloudy sky. Since we were there in a Friday morning, the trail was almost completely deserted. It was fun to walk together between various statues and talk about them, and life, and our own family. Very proud of you sis. Looking forward to 1500!
