Sunrise

For a little fun on the day off, Mark, Andrew and I did a bike ride this morning.  Here they are at 6:30 getting ready to ride the Poudre River Trail from the beginning at Island Grove Park to the end west of Windsor.  We completed the 42 miles in 4 hours. Thankfully we were done before it got too crazy hot out.

Man vs. Wild

"IT'S A SNAKE!!" a breathless Sarabeth exclaimed as she burst into the front door last night. Everyone jumped up and ran outside to see the four and a half foot POISONS AMAZON PYTHON OF DEATH. Actually we don't know what kind it was but Jim got a shovel and then he..............cut the beast in two and we cooked it for dinner. No, that didn't happen either. He gently pushed it across the driveway into the neighbors yard.  It was very exciting.

Halftime

Broncos up 14-3!! Can the Superbowl be far behind?? Boys are enjoying $16 of cotton candy and some cold soda. It's going to be really fun having these seats.

End 1st

Broncos down 3-0, but will have a first and goal from the 2 at the start of the second. The birthday group is having a great time and sharing the binoculars.

Pre-game

Enjoying the pre-game festivities from our seats. And yes, the row behind us is the last row of the stadium. We are in section 518, row 24, seats 1-4.  It's also in the shade which is awesome on a 90 degree day like this.

Birthday Dinner

We have arrived at the Burger King across the street from Sports Authority Field at Mile High. Thanks so much Grandpa Jim for the great FREE parking spot here. We will have dinner here, then check out the season tickets we invested in. Happy birthday Nathanael!!

1 Year

Tonight Noah and his special friend are celebrating their one year anniversary with a dinner at Olive Garden. Noah is using the lawn mowing money he earned this summer to pay for dinner. Quite a gentleman!!

Baseball

Tonight it is just the kids hitting the ball around. We did add a glove for the pitcher and real bases instead of rocks. We have some nice boxed seats to watch the game from...all we need is dad to bring home some peanuts and Cracker Jacks.

Field of Dreams

Just finished a crazy three on three pickup game of wiffle ball in the back yard. Jim, Sarabeth, and Noah beat Nathanael, Andrew and dad. Quite a bit of action in the middle of the second when Lincoln for out and chased a rabbit.

Relaxing

Finally back at the pool after a several week absence. The sun is shining, the bugs aren't biting, and the kids are having a blast. Too bad Jen and Noah are in school missing all the fun.

#14

Enjoyed a wonderful meal out last night to celebrate our anniversary.  Those 14 years sure have flown by. We ate at a new Mexican food place near our new home at St. Michaels called LaMariposa Restaurant and Margarita House. I had a gummy bear margarita because I'm such a man and that sounded like a man's drink. Happy anniversary Jennifer. ILY.

Behind

So the last month has been crazy busy for our family: packing for and taking the week long trip to Yellowstone, packing all of our worldly possessions and moving, Jen and Noah starting the school year, slogging through a busy summer at Frito, our 14th anniversary yesterday and now a birthday to celebrate on Saturday. Still haven't blogged the amazing pictures from the Tough Mudder in June. Whew. Oh yeah, still have 4 days of the vacation to blog and post pictures from. Where to even start?

Nathanael

Nathanael, Andrew and Sarabeth are all out back tonight enjoying the bike path on the green belt. It's only a matter of time before they figure out they can start racing. Then the real fun begins.

First Supper

Finally, after two crazy weeks, we are moved into our new home. We had our first sit down dinner with just the 6 of us last night. So thankful for a bigger place that is a wee bit closer to Ft. Collins and Frontier High School.

Brothers

I love that guy. Best brother I could have ever asked for. Thanks Wes for your help this week. Kaleb is a very lucky little guy to have you for a father.

Dinner

Enjoying a nice break after dinner and a hard day of moving. It was so great to spend two days with my dad and my brother. Someday instead of working like dogs when we get together, we should use my Broncos tickets and go to a game.

Break

Grandpa and Sarabeth taking a break from moving in the shade of the moving truck. They were looking at clouds and imagining they were different shapes. Too bad it was a cloudless day and 93 degrees.

Folks!

Mom was in the state Tuesday for an appointment so I got to have a nice lunch with them at Sanfords. It was so great to visit with them for over an hour while we ate. Still praying for mom and her health to improve. Your prayers for her are always appreciated.

7th Grade

Summer vacation is officially over for two members of the Roth family. Jen started last Tuesday with four days of staff development and Noah started 7th grade today. Wow, where does the time go? The girl he is seated next to is his girlfriend of almost a year. Guess we don't use desks at Frontier.

Funkworks

At brewery number three!! Gosh, that's a lot of glasses at our table. Currently enjoying the Chardonnay Barrel Blonde on the Flight 2 tour.

Odells

One down, five to go...not very crowded today at Odells. Didn't even wait in line. Winning!

New Belgium!

Taking a packing/moving break this afternoon with friends in Ft. Collins. We will be making the brewery loop today, trying to visit three or four different ones. Wish us luck! We start at New Belgium....

Yellowstone-Hike

We enjoyed another quick breakfast Wednesday morning so we could start the days activities a bit earlier. Our boat guide had recommended the Elephant Back Trail so we loaded up the Camelbacks and set off! It was a nice two mile loop that took us about 90 minutes. Thankfully no wildlife on the trail, and very few other hikers.

Yellowstone-Lake

Tuesday night was a real treat as we were able to take an hour long sunset boat cruise around Yellowstone Lake. The tour guide showed us several of the original buildings that are still standing, the small island in the middle of the lake, told several stories of the many characters from Yellowstone's early days, and answered several of the kids questions. The lake was almost the highest it has ever been, as you can see from the black mark on the bridge. The road that runs alongside the lake was also underwater.
