Bumpin’

The Bumpin Uglies made another stop in Colorado this week. This time in Fort Collins at the Aggie (which, interestingly enough, Little D played at a few weeks ago). Great show, fun venue, and I got a song I was chasing that they didn’t play in Greeley last fall: Morning After. And not only did I get to see it, Brandon played it in the encore. Solo. Acoustic.

Greeley-D

Little D is wrapping up his college career! He recently interviewed and was hired at Valley High School for the upcoming 2023-24 school year. In addition, the band is playing regular gigs, and he continues to play a few times a month in the church worship band. Go D go.

Greeley-Than

Here’s an update from the YFC world and Than and Ruthie. They continue to kill it with their new job and the kids they are helping in fairly significant ways. Go Than Go.

PDX-Sister

It appears that Sis is having a solid last half of March in the PDX. Movies, trips to the ocean, some hiking, and I assume some school and work? Go Sister go.

ALLO BAH

It was our (my) time to shine as ALLO hosted the Greeley Chamber Business After Hours at 477. What can I say? I killed it. Best After Hours of the past 6 months, maybe year. The place was packed, the food was incredible and the raffle prizes were local and top notch. We also had a great turnout of ALLO folks to enjoy the evening. Go Ryan go.

March Events

It was a very busy and very full ALLO schedule the last half of the month. Attended the Erie Chamber banquet, the EEDC mixer, and lined up a few more sponsorships. Also attended Hip Hop Madness, which we sponsored so 150 kids could attend a day long dance class and take home a swag bag.

PDX-Rose Garden

Notice anything interesting about these pictures? Yes, the sun does, in fact, actually shine in Portland sometimes. We closed our visit with a quick trip to the Rose Garden. I’d really like to walk through here on our next trip in September, when the roses are actually in bloom. Regardless, the area was just beautiful. We were able to capture some pretty good photos too! Then it was time to drop the kids off and say goodbye until May, when they will travel to Greeley for Little D’s college graduation.

PDX-Rotary

As the President Elect for our Rotary Club, I felt it would be important to visit the original Portland Rotary Club for their weekly meeting. So while Jen hung out with the kids, I made my way back downtown to the Sentinel Hotel. It was a great meeting, with about 35 people in attendance and several more joining via Zoom. At the end I was able to do a flag exchange with their current president (photo will be fourth coming when they post it on their Facebook page). Breakfast on Tuesday was at the same diner we ate at on our last day in Portland in September. Gabe had school, or he would have joined us.

PDX-Monday

Rain. Rain Rain. As Monday turned out, it was the most rain Portland had recorded in a single day in over two months. So we did lots of indoor activities: eating and visits to brewerys and eating and trying to stay dry. The highlight was being invited to see Noah’s office and meet his coworkers and the CEO. So much rain. Finished the day back at the hotel with Gabe and Sarabeth. They played board games with Jen and I was able to sneak away for a cigar by the fire pit when the rain finally stopped. Did I mention it rained ALL DAY?
