Tradition

The yearly Valentine cards arrived from Wyoming this week as well. Every year Grandpa Roth takes a few extra minutes to drop them in the box that will receive the Loveland postmark. This year was no different. In addition to the neat cards, the kids will be enjoying ice cream from Cold Stone while putting together a puzzle made from Grandma and Grandpa's Christmas card. Sarabeth is holding the package from Kaleb. He is loaning her his dads cope of Little House on the Prairie. Now Sarabeth and her dad can continue reading the series! Gotta love quality mail day!

#35

Well, Campingdad is now closer to 40 then he is 30. The family celebrated on Tuesday night with a trip to Buffalo Wild Wings. Kids had never been there before, so we were curious to see how many wings we could polish off. Not quite 50. The favorite were the salt and vinegar. Finished the evening with several birthday phone calls, text messages, Tweets, and over 30 Facebook posts from friends and family around the world.

4th Quarter

Some of the gang at our place this evening. Ugly shoe spokesman 17, Giants 13.  Love to see another Doritos commercial!

Halftime

Poor Wesley and Dish Network subscribers. This is what they get to see at halftime instead of Madonna. He is missing a great show!! LMAFO even made an appearance. Spawns of Hell 10, Giants 9.

$3,200,000

So that was the best commercial so far. Got some laughs from the group at our house. Gotta love dogs and Doritos!! Giants up 9-3 early in the 2nd.

Pre-Game

The crowd at the Roth house is slowly arriving. Glad to be done with chips for the week. Looking forward to seeing how Frito blows $3.2 million per Doritos commercial. Prediction: Giants 31, Pats 28.

Star

Nathanael was the "Star of the Week" last week in his 3rd grade class. He got to answer lots of different questions about himself, his family, and his favorite activities and places. He also got to bring in a special show-n-tell which was his dog Tulo. His favorite place? Yellowstone Park. Still so thankful we made the big effort with that trip last summer. It keeps paying dividends.

Cookies

We spent a fun fun night last night at Devin and Ashleys eating pizza and decorating Valentines Day cookies! The pizza was even in the shape of a heart! The kids all had their own take on decorating, but mostly it was a challenge to see who could pile the most sugar on top of their cookie. Sarabeth had the most fun, and Noah even got into the act and decorated a cookie. So did dad.

Eyes!

Last week, the 3rd grade class had the opportunity to dissect some cow eyeballs for their core unit in science. Nathanael was thrilled! While other kids are our table were turning white and looking like they might pass out, Nathanael dove right in. He located the pupil, optic nerve, lens, and all the other wonderful goo inside. I was thankful I was able to attend and help out.

Hearts!

Evidently, we like to cut things up in the science/biology classes in both Frontier buildings. Today was Noah's turn, with the dissection of a cows heart in biology. If you didn't recognize him, he is on the right. On an unrelated note, Mrs. Roth's access class won the yearly Box Tops contest for the school. Her class wins a pizza party and she wins Script of her choice. Way to go babe!!

Starbucks

So, back in December, Starbucks featured this handy tumbler as one of their 12 Days of Christmas specials. If you bought the tumbler at $16.95, they would fill it up with brewed coffee everyday in January for free. FREE. Retail value of one fill up was $2.25. I filled mine 65 times. Hahahahaha. If you do the math, I drank $129.30 worth of Starbucks coffee for free. Excuse me now, I need to pee.

Picture

Here is the picture of my date and I on Saturday night. We had a great evening together. Here are a few random things that she said. On the way to the dance: "I'm going to find the love of my life on christianmingle.com." The second song played was Flo Riders "Right Round." Which seems like an odd choice at a daddy/daughter dance. At 6:21 Sarabeth asked "Where's my corsage??" Oops. By the end of the evening, Taylor Swift was the most requested artist. And at 7:17 Sarabeth said her feet were hot and could she take off her shoes. Yes. It was a great night.
