Cigars

I continue to enjoy my new cigar hobby. Had a great time at the Rocky Mountain International Cigar Festival in August with Scott, Sean and Brad. We spent the day walking around the Interlockin Resort in Brookfield, smoking cigars, tasting beers and whiskey and enjoying the sights. Ended up with a bag of 45 sticks to enjoy this fall. I’ve also been enjoying the bi-weekly cigar club that Brad has started. Got to host the guys a few weeks ago on the patio.

OctoBREWfest

I only made it down to one night of the OctoBREWfest this year. Once again, I found myself volunteering. I’m a sucker for a free T-shirt! I worked the front gate with a friend from the Greeley Chamber, checking IDs and selling beer tokens. It was a pretty fun Friday night and even ran into this couple who was out having fun!

GMM

Our group hosted another successful Greeley Mob Mixer this past week at the Greeley Shineshop. We had about 25 business people spend a couple of hours getting to know one another, supporting the Shineshop, and growing their spheres. We gave away some silly prizes, including a Simpsons board game signed by the GMM leadership crew. If you’re interested, check our our commercial we created by going to YouTube and searching “Greeley Mob Mixer.”

Soon…

Look what showed up via FedEx this past week….

Habitat

It’s not all fun and no work. Our Satellite Rotary Club had the privilege of volunteering on Friday to help finish Habitat for Humanity’s current house in Greeley. I spend the day painting corners before my friends came through with the rollers. Had a nice lunch then a few more hours of work. Feels so good to give back to the community that has given us so much.

Home

Scott and I made a morning jaunt to Laramie to pick up the weather vane that Claude made and that had been on the spa house. We made a day of it making the driving tour around Laramie, visiting dad and cleaning up the gravesite, having lunch at Altitude, stopping at Bonds Brewing and even making time for a cigar next to Huck Finn Pond. Weather was perfect. Thanks Scott!

Dropkick

Made to to the Mission Ballroom Friday night with the Wood brothers and Greg for Rancid and Dropkick! Been a couple of years since I last saw them. It was an eventful night trying to get there, trying to get into the venue and all the shenanigans that go with it. Took Wood 25 minutes to get his digital Covid card to work. Then in the middle of the Dropkick set, Wood got a text from Greg that he had a dislocated elbow and was in the ER. WHA?? Thankfully he will be ok, but we sure had a “Hangover” tripe moment there for a bit. Show was good…fun to be on the rail in the middle of the crazy.

311

How did I miss an entire month on the blog? Sorry about that, faithful readers. Let’s start with the most recent and work backwards maybe? Back to Ryan’s happiest place on earth last night for the Iridum/311 show. Beautiful night for a show at Red Rocks with good friends and some new friends! Always an adventure and experience.
