I was able to participate in my first “official” City Council event on the Saturday before Thanksgiving. We challenged the District 6 School Board to a turkey fundraiser for a few hours during the Weld Food Bank drive. Tommy, Deb and I gathered at Safeway on a beautiful and clear afternoon and gathered 64 turkeys!!! A HUGE part was my friend Tori, who filled 2 grocery carts FULL and donated 35 frozen birds. Sadly, we lost to School Board by 7. Still fun, and for a very worthy cause.
