I was the final Council person to be sworn in. I tried to be in the moment, not screw up the oath, smile, and not cry. I nailed all four. The judge congratulated me, I signed my oath, and took my seat on the dais. Then we were off to the races for my first council meeting. I was able to share a brief statement, thanking mom and dad, Jen, our family, Sara, Sam, and the community for electing me. After some city business, a few votes, and a brief recess, I found myself in my first executive session! Then we were done, and I had my first council meeting under my belt.
