Pedestal

More security! Two more full airport like security checkpoints to make it through before we could be our 11 story assent of the pedestal. It was worth it, though. The views were incredible! We walked through another very well done museum that included the original torch. Dad even made it outside on the pedestal for a few minutes. In a few pictures, you can see the spiral staircase heading up to the crown. I didn't know that that Statue was closed for almost a year after Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
