I was able to participate in one of the most powerful events since being elected in November. Thursday was the National Day of Prayer. I’m not sure what I was expecting when I accepted the invitation. There were several dozen church leaders, lay people, elected officials, and government representatives who gathered on the steps of the courthouse to pray, worship, and seek the Lord’s blessing. The elected officials were asked to come on stage and be prayed over and for. I might have cried a bit. We were then asked to break off into smaller groups and pray for specific topics like “media,” “families,” and “government.” Of course the folks in the cheap seats had to chirp about it, and us. The Man in the Arena… On a related note, Nathanael and I took the trash out to the annual Greeley Clean-Up day. Dad always loved those trips to the dump, to the dump, to the dump, dump dump.
