Colorado Rising

Not quite two weeks ago, a special concert for flood relief for our state was announced. Dave Matthews would be headlining the special evening entitled Colorado Rising. Other local bands that were scheduled to appear included The Fray, Big Head Todd and the Monsters and the Lumineers. The show sold out in 90 seconds. Guess who scored 2 tickets?

It was a pretty special night in Broomfield last night. The Fray only played four songs, but were joined on stage by a 10 year old named Teddy who played piano on "How to Save a Life." He turned out to be the son of Governor Hickenloper. Gov Hick, who is still rocking the crutches after his surgery, giggled like a schoolgirl while introducing Dave. Dave played a solid set of 9 songs, including a little John Denver and "You & Me."  Lumineers rocked "Ho Hey" and played a couple new songs for the crowd that was left. Jen and I left before Big Head Todd played. A great way to kick off Jens birth week celebration!
