Variety

Activities seem to be trending more towards campaign related events and away from the work of ALLO. With the spending “pause” still in effect and no merit raises until at least September, I have been looking at events in a different way. We hosted the GMM June edition at the Breezeway this past week. Invited the crew to the fundraiser kickoff next week. Sadly, our photographer wasn’t able to attend, so candids is what you get. Can’t believe we had almost 40 people that attended. It’s riveling some Chamber events I’ve attended. Supported Windsor City Lifestyle with their Stampede kick-off event. Blood! FridayFest with the crew!

The Canidate

Over the winter, I started throwing around the idea of doing something huge in 2025. What that was going to be was pretty wide open. Train for a finish a marathon? Run for elected office? Work on a promotion at ALLO? Plan for and complete one hike a week for 52 weeks? Learn to golf? As winter gave way to spring, the focus became clearer: I was going to run for elected office in Greeley. There were two real possibilities: City Council in Ward 3 against the incumbent Jonny Olson or run for an open seat At-Large. After lots of discussion with a wide variety of people, I got the clarity I needed. In late May, with both a campaign manager and treasurer lined up, I made my official announcement. The Greeley Tribune article followed the next week.

So here I am, candidate for Greeley City Council At-Large. Go, Ryan, go. Election is November 4.

52

Pretty significant day. In a different universe, mom and dad would be celebrating their 52nd wedding anniversary today with a trip to the Snowy Range and dinner in Centennial. Instead, it’s been 8 years since dad passed away and 3 years since mom passed. I pray they have found each other in eternity, and look down on the legacy they left for Wes and I and celebrate. This was the announcement that we placed in the Boomerang 12 years ago.

Let’s Break

Things in the World of Work (WOW) continue to move forward. Last week we were pleased to participate in the official groundbreaking for the communities of Fredrick, Decano, and Ft. Lupton. We welcomed the CEO and founder of ALLO Fiber Brad Moline, as well as dignitaries for Intrepid and the City of Fredrick. It was a beautiful afternoon as we celebrated the continued expansion in Colorado.

Friends

It’s such a blessing to have a great group of friends to hang with, celebrate with, encourage and celebrate with. Really have enjoyed the kick-off to summer vacation with these good folks.

Home

The brothers are making big money moves! On Monday, Nathanael and Ruthie closed on their first home. It just to be directly across the street from Bittersweet Pool and Tennis Association. If you look back in the way-back machine, you will see how much fun the kids and I had at the pool when we were members. On Friday, Noah and Sariah officially arrived in Burlington, Vermont to begin their new adventure together. And guess what? It was cold and rainy there too, just three hours time difference from the cold and rainy they left in Portland. And yes, I know that is Niagara Falls. They were able to stop at a few cool places as they made the drive east.

Event Season Begins!

If it’s already June, it must mean that Events Season has arrived. It’s kind of a hodgepodge of pictures, from the Evans ribbon cutting, to a golf tournament, and some other silliness thrown in. Crammed four events into Saturday, including Brighton SummerFest, the Greeley Blues Jam, and an art fair in Erie. Can’t people pick different weekends?

Lackluster

The week was just sorta blah. Highlight of course was seeing the PDX/BUR kids for a day and a half, welcoming Than and Ruthie hone from Europe, and Andrew and Ari making it to summer vacation. Work was lackluster, with the continued “pause” on spending. And we all remember how the last “pause” Ryan was on in 2021-22 turned out. Not even an all day Leadership Northern Colorado could raise the enthusiasm. Neither could another golf tournament, number 2 of ???. Finished the week at the clay shooting tournament for Lifestories.

PDX——>BUR

We had some very special guests make a stop in Greeley on their was to Burlington, Vermont: Noah, Sariah and Hashbrown! They are making good time on their cross-county move, and even made it through Yellowstone and a stop in Worland to see Ed and Rebecca. We fed them well while they were here, played some card games, and enjoyed Decades Night at 477. Safe travels, kids. We love you.
