Over the winter, I started throwing around the idea of doing something huge in 2025. What that was going to be was pretty wide open. Train for a finish a marathon? Run for elected office? Work on a promotion at ALLO? Plan for and complete one hike a week for 52 weeks? Learn to golf? As winter gave way to spring, the focus became clearer: I was going to run for elected office in Greeley. There were two real possibilities: City Council in Ward 3 against the incumbent Jonny Olson or run for an open seat At-Large. After lots of discussion with a wide variety of people, I got the clarity I needed. In late May, with both a campaign manager and treasurer lined up, I made my official announcement. The Greeley Tribune article followed the next week.
So here I am, candidate for Greeley City Council At-Large. Go, Ryan, go. Election is November 4.
