A poem:
Twas the Night before Davemas
And all down Grey Street
No hippies were sleeping
Excited tapping feet
Every album was playing
On a stereo aloud
Not a body could wait
To get lost in the crowd
The ants all prepared
Their antennas will wave
As they stomp and they whoop
At the mere sight of Dave
When up on the stage
Tim Reynolds did riff
Ignited the crowd!
Each one lit a spliff!
With Carter on drums
So lively and fair
The Groo Grux King missing
We wish he was there!
Then out front and center
So jolly and spry
Dave sprung some vocals
A tear in each eye
A rejoice overwhelming
So beautiful bright
Tonight we celebrate
By Firedancer light
For 3 days the Gorge
Becomes 2nd home
Whenever you're here
You're never alone
When end draws nigh'
We go our own ways
And all year we cherish
These magical days
Through hard times and sad times
We remember the cheer
Till we all meet again
On this hill next year!
