Summer just keeps rolling on. An outdoor event in Brighton with highs in the upper 90’s. We had a check presentation from the RLF in Brighton that we supported this year. Another day, another pool party in Brighton! Watching the Opening Ceremonies for the Olympics with the gang. The first morning of the annual Arts Picnic in downtown.
Just some brief sights from the past several days as we gear up for a bust weekend, including the annual Arts Picnic and a trip to Mile High to see Jen’s favorite band on Saturday. Bella keeps growing, and boy oh boy does she love Jen.
Sara(Beth) has been making some great inroads with the leadership at IQ in her time there. Last week, she was able to use some company provided funds to put on a class for their members on caring for houseplants! She had 15 people show up for the class, and everyone got to take one home afterwards. Her parting words of advice to them were “don’t forget to name your plant!” Way to go sis!
It was so nice to gather with the friend group at Scribbick Ranch on Saturday night for a live-stream of O.A.R. Live from Boston. It even rained on and off for most of the night, which made for an even more realistic experience. Beer was cheaper and bathroom lines were a lot shorter. Bella had fun with all the little kids.
And the Events guy is ready for a day and a half off. Crammed a lot in since the Dancing event on Wednesday. Made it to Erie briefly for a groundbreaking for a new affordable housing development. Rushed home for a Business After Hours with the Evans Chamber and a late walk. Surprisingly, no Friday golf tournament, just a ribbon cutting and an ALLO hosted FridayFest, our second of the summer. We also awarded the bike to the lucky winner from the Let’s Bike event at the end of June. Bella was pretty popular and did very well. Closed the workweek with the Touch A Truck event with the City of Greeley.
It was an honor to be asked to return as host and MC for the Dancing with the Weld County Stars for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County. I was able to keep the show on the road, get some laughs from the contestants, judges and the crowd, and even finished the show 15 minutes early. Congrats to my friend Nate for winning!
