Results

The team is finished up in Dallas. The day started with an inspiring text message from Texas. The kid has always loved food. While Andrew didn't medal this year, the team finished fifth. Andrew didn't feel this was his strongest year, but I'm glad he stuck with it and had a great experience. Safe travels home today team! See you soon Little D. I'm proud of you. 

Dallas

Our Acca Penta team is having a great time in Texas. The competition was this morning. Andrew felt he did ok on the test. He will find out tonight at the banquet. This afternoon the team took a tour of some famous sites in Dallas. I was hoping for a trip to Plano and the mothership, but they ended up at the book depository and JFK museum. Good luck tonight Little D! 

Soul Squared

We were very pleased and honored to be invited to the grand opening of Soul Squared last night in Ft. Collins. Soul Squared in the newest brewery in Northern Colorado, operated by our friend and Jennifer's coworker, Jay Shambo. It was a fun evening of friendship, celebration and three new beers brewed by Jay. Looking forward to many years of success for you Jay! 

Stripes

It was stripes day for the ladies at Frontier yesterday. Pretty good looking group of high quality educators. Hang in there everyone, summer starts in one week, or 4 class days!

On the Road

Acca Penta kids are off to Dallas! They will compete tomorrow, see a few sights possibly Friday night and early Saturday, then head home Saturday. Congrats to Andrew and the team and good luck at the national championships!

Happy Mother's Day! What can I say that hasn't been said here on the blog before? Amidst the chaos of teaching a full load of middle schoolers, yearbook, credit recovery, OPT, all the responsibility that those positions encompass, you are still an incredible mom to our kids. I admire your creativity, dedication, love and encouragement to those around you. Our kids are so lucky to have a teacher as their mom! You amaze me day in and day out. I love you. Happy Mother's Day. 

Mom!

Happy Mother's Day mom! I am so blessed and so fortunate to have a mom like you. Thank you for the phone calls, emails, texts and visits. Thanks for cheering me on and encouraging me through the ups and downs. Your support and love mean so much to me. I hope today has been a wonderful celebration of you! You deserve it. I love you. 

Training

The last day of the semester at RMCRI is always bittersweet. I am excited for my personal trainer who is graduating and moving on to their chosen career field, but sad that I'm losing a friend who has invested a lot of time and dedication. In me. Three hours a week training me an untold hours writing exercise plans.  So, Dave and I spent roughly 50 hours together this spring. He is a great trainer and a good man. I feel I really made excellent progress this semester, including running a sub 9 minute mile and leg pressing a one rep max of 380 pounds. 

For the last day of training today, we welcomed a special trainer that really put me through my paces. She was just brutal. 

Thanks Dave for a great semester. I learned so much and am so much stronger and healthier then I was in December. Good luck and Godspeed in your future endeavors. 

AWANA Games

Sarabeth and her teammates were recognized at church on Sunday for their victory in the annual AWANA Games held last weekend in Eaton. I believe this is Sarabeths third championship with Mountain View. She always seems to have fun and has developed into a real leader for the girls team!  

TBT-ERock

Happy Thursday! Here is a trip in the time machine back to 2010. Sarabeth and I were riding Elephant Rock with Andrew and Rebecca in beautiful Castle Rock. Rebecca's parents very graciously hosted us that weekend. I didn't know at the time, but that would be my last Elephant Rock for at least five years, maybe more. 

Gallery Hop

The middle school Gallery Hop was once again pretty amazing. The quality of work that the students produce throughout the year is just incredible. Nathanael had a great show, with his self portrait winning first place!! Andrew also showed a lot of creativity with his several pieces including "After Capitalism". Maybe he has been reading that little red book that Uncle Wesley brought him from China a little too much?? 

Art-Sarabeth

It's gallery hop time again already. Hard to believe that next year will be our final year at the elementary campus. Sis did a great job on the pieces she showed this year as you can see. That girl loves art! 

Horses

It was a great sports day on Saturday, with the end of the NFL draft, a game seven between the Spurs and Clippers, the Kentucky Derby and the "fight of the century." We spent the afternoon and evening enjoying mint julips and fresh beer from the Broken Plow with a host of friends. Even though none of the teams/horses/boxers we were pulling for won, it was still a really fun Saturday. I am also thankful I wasn't the one to spend $100 on the crappy fight. Maybe, finally, a Triple Crown Winner thins year? 

Hard Workin'

All three boys are hard at work raising support for their missions trip to Arkansas at the end of the month. They have been writing support letters, doing odd jobs, and helping friends with spring clean up projects. Let me know if you would like a work crew to help out with anything!
