I was fortunate enough to be asked to attend the Blue Jays versus Rockies game last week. What was lucky about it, was not the fast they got steamrolled 15-1 that night (and lost all three games in the series 45-6 and surrendered 63 hits). No, the lucky part was probably the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend batting practice for both teams AND sit in the Legacy Suite. Saw a few Rockies legends including Clint Hurdle and Vinny Castilla. Blue Jays BP started off with Hall of Famer Don Mattingly throwing a few pitches. Also got to see possible AL MVP Vlad Guerrero hit a few.
Legacy Suite was epic. Dinner with chicken cordon blue or prime rib with all the fixings. There was also hotdogs, pizza, a cheese platter, popcorn, sweets, and free beer and wine. The staff even threw out Cracker Jacks during the 7th inning stretch. Sadly, Mr. Monfort, who was sitting 5 sears away, only lasted 6 innings. Oh, and the inside seats had air conditioning. How will I ever go back to attending a game as a normal fan? Thanks for the invite, Scott!
