We had our first full class of Leadership Northern Colorado in Loveland last week. It was an incredible day of learning, insights from Colorado leaders, some map making, and locating Buzz Lightyear and Woody statues that were created at a foundry in downtown. Word on the street is the same foundry creates the Heisman Trophy each year. In the afternoon, we took a tour of the Forge, a co-working spaces in the former HP headquarters that was build in the 1960’s. It’s also the former home of Lightening E-Motors, which went out of business in 2022. We were able to hear from the state demographer about projected trends in Weld and Larimer county. We also took a walking tour of downtown to various art studios and co-working spaces. I was also able to be one of the first people to share my “show and tell” object and give a five minute talk to the class about me. I selected my Ambassador of Year award from 2020. A happy hour concluded a very successful first class!
