Now that winter has arrived with full force here in Colorado, it's time to pull out my amazing new quilt to keep warm with. Earlier this year, dad found a really neat group of women in Laramie who sew quilts for folks in need or who are going through tough situations. Having cancer qualified me to receive one of their quilts! So I loaded up a couple dozen of my special tshirts that I have been collecting over the years: old basketball camp shirts, bicycle rides and race shirts, and my red survivor shirt from the Greeley 5k. I was able to select the pattern as well. Then the ladies went to work.
The finished product is breathtaking. I am so lucky to have such a special keepsake of my many memories in those shirts. Each member of the family was also able to pray over the quilt as they tied one of the strings on it. There is also a book that was written about this very special group of ladies. I am once again so blessed and so encouraged by this special quilt.
