Notice anything different? Besides the nose piercing? Yep, sis joined the ranks of her mom and brothers and picked up her new glasses yesterday. Pretty cute!
I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days, before you’ve actually left them.

Tuesday (day 23)
Good morning at the gym (back day) and 20 minutes on the treadmill propelled me to 7000 steps. Also closed my exercise rings. Fairly normal COVID WFH day...Jen had zoom meetings all day, sister finished a book, Than worked his landscaping job and I had a few calls, met with my business coach (no more worm paintings!), and finished a book myself. No booze.

Monday
So 10000 steps in a day is really difficult to accomplish. I managed to close all three rings, but missed getting to even 7000 steps. It was chest day this morning at the gym. Feeling stronger and doing 4 sets of 15/12/10/8 of most exercises. My goal this year was to be able to flat bench press 2 95# dumbbells one time. There’s still a chance.
NOISE!
There we were, Jen and I, sitting quietly on Sunday morning preparing to eat a nice breakfast and read the Sunday papers. When, all of a sudden, the front door burst open and not one, not two, not three....but 7 teenagers exploded into the kitchen in one big ball of energy.
It was nice to see the kids, their friends and their girlfriends for about an hour before they all left again for church. Andrew ended up in Denver for the day, being invited by Ari to meet her family and have dinner. Nathanael spent the day celebrating Ruthie’s birthday with her family. So quiet, to LOUD, to quiet in less then an hour. I’ll miss these days...

Day 21
Well, I’ve finished up 3 weeks of the “whole new us.” Still no booze. Rest day again today. Had a nice lunch with friend Paul after trip to grocery store. Invited Beryl and her boyfriend Alec over for dinner.

Saturday
Rest day...no gym...so no steps or closed rings...but a lot of fun being out in the community! Started the day at the golf course helping out with the charity event for the GPO and the Boys and Girls Club. Ended the day downtown at Brix supporting the GPO again and seeing so many friends! Closed the night at Tower with a delicious mock tail.

Friday
Leg day!! Always my favorite and Toms, well, not favorite. But he was a good sport and did it anyways. Cleared 7000 and closed all rings. Other then that, pretty slow Friday. No booze. Now it’s “Sober October.”

Thursday
It was biceps and triceps at the gym this morning! Nice 15 minute HIT on the treadmill at the end helped get me to 7000 steps for the day. Also closed all three rings!
Radio Star!
Thanks for the invite to appear with you in a live broadcast of “Nicks Nacks” on 1310 KFKA today, Nick Kenny! It was fun to raise money for the Red Cross, talk about Star Wars and leadership in the community. The Dave Matthew’s Band bumper music was a nice touch!

#16
Sixteen days and counting!! Hosted cigar club tonight and was tempted, but succeeded in just pounding two mineral waters and one cigar. Active morning at the gym (back day!) and fairly active throughout the day. Rumor has it that the PAUSE might last another freaking month. Good grief. Also, Frontier Secondary got sent home for two weeks starting tomorrow due to a second positive COVID case.
Interview
There she is! Today she is interviewing for a spot on the Success Foundation Junior Board. The Foundation works hand in hand with District 6 to build the next generation of leaders and provide kids the opportunity to expand their volunteer and community involvement. Good luck Sister!

Debate #1
Well, tonight is Presidential Debate #1 and it is a hot mess. More importantly, I had a good day today. Lots of steps, business plan and process coming together, a great steak dinner and party mix from mom!

Two Weeks
Well, two weeks into the “whole new us,” as Tom says. Good morning at the gym (chest day!), eating healthy throughout the day, no alcohol, but missed both 10000 steps and even 7000 steps. Still on the pause at Merrill. Everyone in the family is still healthy. Noah is getting settled into his new apartment. Andrew stopped by and cleaned out the refrigerator of leftovers.

Rest Day
Well, at least from exercise and tracking steps. But still plenty to do...house chores mostly. Trip to Kings. Dinner at Wing Shack.
But the cool part of today was the gathering at moms! Andrew made creme brûlée and Ari made scones and they picked up Than and Sis and spent 3 hours enjoying the food and talking. Ruthie even made an appearance!

Friday!
Great morning at the gym and an active evening walking around downtown between Luna’s and Tower produces the first 10000 step day this week! Also no booze at either of the places tonight. On to the weekend!
