I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days, before you’ve actually left them.

UNC
Had the chance to attend the UNC Bears men’s basketball game game tonight again Eastern Washington. Bears looked pretty good as they upped their conference record to 4-0. Enjoyed sitting with my friend Dudley and talking basketball!

Meal Prep
Just about every Sunday afternoon, after mom and dad return with groceries for the week, Sarabeth puts her apron on and gets to work. She is usually able to prepare 4-8 healthy meals for her and Jen to take to school during the week. It’s pretty impressive.

Promotion
Look at this clean-shaven gentleman and his girlfriend! Little D was promoted at work today, from executive dishwasher to chef in training. Along with the new duties at the Tavern, came a $1 raise. Congrats D!

2018 Books
It was another ho-hum year on the reading side. After finishing 60+ books several years ago, only managed to finish these this year. All business related. Set the goal this year at 20. Not quite 2 per month. Who knows, maybe I’ll do something crazy and rejoin one of my former book clubs.

Happy New Year!
Welcome to 2019! While 2018 had its ups and downs, challenges and setbacks, there were also a few victories and celebrations. As I looked back on my post from NYE 2016, I realized how much has changed in two short years.

I’ve been thinking a lot about goals and objectives for the year ahead. I will hopefully be sharing those here in the next several days. For now, it was a fun day/evening with friends. We spent the afternoon with Woods, dinner at Scribbs, and rocked in the new year with friends at Bulldog Deli and saw the ball drop at Stewart’s.
Here we go!

Beach!
If there’s one thing is landlocked Coloradans love, it’s a beach and an ocean. Noah had our day all lined up for us. It was off to a small beachside town to walk around and have lunch.

Tillamook
Continuing our adventures in Oregon after a morning at the beach. The Tillamook Cheese Factory has opened their new visitors center since we were here last September. And boy oh boy is it impressive. We decided not to wait in line for free cheese samples or ice cream. It reminded me of the line at Ben and Jerry’s under Rockefeller Center on the mancation. Dad would have had fun walking though here and laughing at the people.

Events
As the old Sesame Street song goes, “one of these things is not like the other. One of these things doesn’t belong.” Can you spot it? That’s right. It’s me. Surrounded by women. I was able to attend 2 separate events this week, one on my own and one representing the agency. The first was a book swap sponsored by a local realtor. Traded a few old books for some new reading. I was the only guy who showed up. The second was the NoCo Women in Business. My boss couldn’t attend so I stepped in for her. Quite a week!

Youth Group
We had the privilege of opening our home to the annual end of summer youth group fire pit and celebration. Such an amazing group of young people who are so kind, thankful, generous and friendly. Each of them looked me in the eye, shook my hand and said thank you. Great kids!

Ribbon Cuttings
Been a crazy busy week professionally. I was able to attend and represent my Allstate agency on Tuesday at Windsong, a new memory care unit that just opened and today at Tower56, a new distillery that just opened downtown. These weee posted on Instagram through the Greeley Chamber of Commerce page.

Weezer
Like I said in an earlier post, Snapchat has been a pretty good way to stay in tough with Noah. It’s also helpful if you want pictures from other family members and they refuse to take them. So I just take a screenshot of their Snap. Andrew took his girlfriend Eve to Denver last night for the Weezer/Pixies show at Fiddlers Green. Always makes Mom and Dad a bit nervous when their son drives to Denver. Grandma too. But he of course did great, had a fabulous time and made it home safe.
