Fort

I know I already blogged on the snow fort last weekend in Laramie. But here are the better pictures from the camera instead of the Blackberry. Gosh the kids had fun building the fort, then having a snowball fight. I think a little bit of that excitement and energy came from the opening scenes of "Where the Wild Things Are" that we watched the night before. Amazing movie by the way. You should go see it. Note in the pictures as the snow keeps disappearing as the day wears on....

Noah

Had a great weekend at 3506. Mom and dad came down from Laramie for the weekend to celebrate Noah's birthday, see the entire family this time (since Jen and Sarabeth missed the Laramie trip last weekend), and do a few outdoor projects we have been waiting to do. Unfortunately, we didn't make it over to see Jen's new classroom at Frontier. Big Andrew even stopped by to see the folks and enjoy a beer. Noah, Andrew, and dad also tried to figure out how to show their respective ages. The Littles even talked Grandma into playing a game she hates: Monopoly.

Happy Birthday Son

Hard to believe that our oldest son turned 11 today. Wow. It seems like just yesterday......

Well, anyways, I love you son. Thanks for being such a wonderful, smart, fun, leader of the "band of brothers." Thank you for the many blessings you have provided to our family over the years. I am proud to be your dad and honored to call you my son.

More Snowfort!!

The boys have been super busy today working on the snow fort. They spent several hours this morning on it, then 2 hours at the pool, and now another 3 hours on it this afternoon. They also had a major snowball fight. Nathanael and Andrew versus Noah. Too bad its going to get dark so early tonight.

Snowfort!

The boys are busy building a snow fort in the backyard this morning. Grandpa provided lots of good tools for the job, and away they went. It is great snow for building, and it isn't too cold out. Note the short sleeve t-shirt Nathanael is in. What a great way to start November.

Nathanael is back from trick-or-treating. He lasted about 45 minutes and walked the neighborhood with Grandpa. They had a blast together. Happy Halloween!

Wyoming Bound

On the way to Grandma and Grandpa's house in Laramie for some old school trick ot treating. Hard to believe I-80 has been closed for 3 days. Most of the snow has melted. For some fun, the boys and I counted 18 wheelers from Cheyenne to Laramie. There has been quite a back-up since the roads have been closed. We counted...497 trucks heading eastbound. Wow.

Dad's Helper

I guess the weather forecasters got this one right. I was a bit doubtful this morning when there was only an inch of snow on the ground. But its been snowing all day and we now have about 6 inches.

Nathanael came out and helped with the shoveling. What a great kid! Thanks Nathanael!

Oh, and AWANA was canceled tonight. Boo.

Family Pics

This past Saturday, we gathered together the "Roth Family 6" and managed to get our family photo taken for the year. Thankfully, our favorite photographer was able to work us in before the big fall/Christmas rush began. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon in Greeley, and Kim did a great job of capturing the energy and excitement of our family. I will have the group shot hopefully posted later today or tomorrow. Until then, here are a few behind the scenes shots from the big photo shoot.

Dance

Grandma Janet also signed Sarabeth up for a dance class on Saturday mornings that they can go to together. Sarabeth is an amazing dancer, and loves putting on her "special shoes" and tutu for class. Can her role in the Nutcracker be too far away??

Climb!

As a very special treat, and a wonderful way to spend time with an individual grandchild, Grandma Janet signed Nathanael up for a climbing class! The two of them headed down to the rec center climbing wall last week for a two hour intro to climbing class. Nathanael of course had no fear. None what so ever. He climbed all three sections with no problems, and no fear of falling or heights. After class, Grandma treated him to an ice cream cone at Dairy Queen. What a great, fun night. Thanks Grandma!

Week #5 Winner

The Roth family football pool is heating up! In another hotly contested week, it came down to the Monday Night Football tie breaker. I think moving forward after this week, I will divide the pool into an adults and a kids pool. That way both the groups can enjoy the weekends games and there will be 2 winners every week! Congrats to this week's winner!

Celebration!

It was a big night out on the town last night, as we celebrated both Andrew's impending 9th birthday, and Jennifer's impending new job. We are all so proud of Jennifer and her new teaching job that will start next week at Frontier Academy Middle School. She will be teaching 8th grade Lit. and one section of senior World Lit.

So to celebrate, grandma and grandpa Gonzales took everyone out to Olive Garden. We had a great time of fellowship together and celebrating Andrew and Jennifer. Little Andrew even had Happy Birthday sang to him by the entire staff. What a great night!
