We spent the July 4th Holiday at Scribbs with the usual gang. Mom and Paul Noffsinger joined us, as well as Andrew and Ari. Sean did a great job with the brisket and pork butt, I smoked some mac’n’cheese on my Traeger and we had all the finings. Of course we played some cornhole and watched the fireworks.
I wish there was a way to know you were in the good old days, before you’ve actually left them.

Traeger Time
We hosted the birthday blowout for Shelly over the weekend on the back patio. Of course that meant TraegerTime! Tri-tip was the main course and turned out prefect. Also roasted corn on the grill. Sorry we weren’t in Mexico as originally planned Shelly. Hope it was still fun. Happy Birthday.
Office
Well, it was bound to happen eventually. On Wednesday the Merrill office officially reopened to Advisors. We actually relocated to a brand new space in April which is just beautiful. Rather empty and pretty quiet, but beautiful and a huge improvement from the former space. I am the only FADP left in the program from the Fort Collins branch. Just keep swimming!
Beer Dinners
Beer dinners are finally back at the Tavern! We have missed them. As a quick recap, on the last Tuesday of each month Chef Chad and his team host a five course dinner paired with the beers from a local brewery. June’s dinner was with Horse & Dragon from Fort Collins. We were joined by our FAC team for a really fun time on the patio. July is the new Rule 105 Brewing.

Hottttttttt
Bit of a warm spell in the PDX the last couple days. Felt terrible for the kids and their pets living on the 12th floor of their apartment without air conditioning. They almost made it the entire weekend until last night at 930 when they lost power. They ended up at the local park where it was a little bit cooler. History was made with a record high of 113. Yikes.
Toby Mac
One more trip downtown on Sunday night for the Toby Mac show. We were joined by Than and Ruthie for the evening. The kids had a blast…I was disappointed at the ending of the show. No encore or anything…he just said goodnight Greeley at 10:40 and left. Where the heck was “Jesus Freak”??? Prior to the show, Jen and I walked around the grounds and happened upon the nightly parade of longhorns. Thankfully we had VIP tickets for the North Forty and didn’t have to wait in line for over an hour for food.
Three Doors Down
Another concert in 2021 in the books! Moved the party from 477 downtown to the Stampede for Saturday nights concert. I was pleased to be joined by Scribbs, Beryl and Patrick. We also connected with Roy on the VIP Patio for some free drinks and snacks before the show.
#3
Happy 3rd anniversary to my friend Matt Estrin and 477 Distilling! Spent a great Saturday afternoon there hanging with friends and enjoying a few cocktails before heading to the Stampede and Three Doors Down concert. No one was taking selfies in front of the board, so Patrick and I decided to encourage the room.
95%
We are now almost complete with the front yard refresh! The rest will wait until fall, when we will clean up the corner by taking out the two grasses and adding more mulch. Just a few larger river rocks to go, and then we move to the next project…the back yard.

Thanks`
We are our last Satellite Rotary meeting of the year last week at Cancun Mexican Restaurant. It was a nice time of celebrating my friend and outgoing Rotary President Jennifer German. She shared how much she depended on me throughout the year to arrange speakers and locations, keep her sane and encouraging her during those dark days of October through December. She gave me this beautiful basket and a very sweet card.
Rockies FAC
We took the FAC crew on the road to Coors Field for our first Rockies game in 2 years. They were still at 60% capacity, which doesn’t really matter since they are the worst team in the NL and wouldn’t be selling out anyways. The crew had fun, eating and drinking and watching the Rockies try.
Yardwork
We are still working on the front yard project. Made some more progress on it and appreciate the help and encouragement (and cold beers) from Scott and Shelly.
