Period 9, Week 4

So this is what my back room at Safeway looked like on Wednesday. There are several thoughts that come to mind, like "kinda hard for customers to buy chips if the displays are all shoved in the back room", and "what in the world happened??"  Well what happenes was a market tour on Tuesday. The vice-president of Frito-Lay for the  western region of the United States was supposed to tour 2 of my stores. I say supposed to, because after all the planning and work that went into getting my stores ready, the tour group slipped them both. Whatever.

Finally finished a week by beating plan. The 3/$5 on Lays at Albertsons really helped. The route ran $28,510 on a $23,627 plan. That's the best week on the route all year. So glad summer is now over. And no more market tours until next year.

I've got a few thoughts too....like "what we're doing is stupid," and "those vp's aren't that ignorant to think that our stores actually look like that on a regular basis, especially when you have a month's worth of volume on the floor." Oh, and let's not forget-"wouldn't it be better to have open and honest communication?" =)
