Travis!

He wanted to get some dap on the blog, so here he is. Thanks again for the ticket. Let me know what I owe you. Oh wait, they were free tickets. Anyways, thanks for the fun evening. Lets do it again next season??

3-1

Rockies lose. Sadness. Playoff chances almost nil now. Here is the post game show on Fox Spots Rocky Mountain. Fun night though. Great weather. Good times with Travis. Thanks again Jennifer for letting me go.

Middle 7

Its stretch time in Colorado, with the Rockies still down 2-1. Ubaldo will not get win #20 tonight. But Ed Clark did tell me he misses some aspects of being mayor of Greeley. Travis also owes me 2 Fat Tires since he didn't think it was really the mayor.

Top 6th

Missed the Cargo homer due to trip to concession stand. Not looking good for the Rockies as they are down 2-1. Pretty quiet in our action since we are surrounds by a large group of deaf people and Greeley's favorite former mayor Ed Clark.

Seats

Great seats tonight too. Section 146 row 12. And an amazingly beautiful night at the park. Perfect weather. Just need a win now. Lets go Ubaldo!

Dinger!

What trip to Coors Field would be complete with a picture of Jennifer's favorite player? So here's to you babe. I love you. Thanks for allowing me to come tonight.

Monday Night!

All my rowdy friends are here for Monday Night! Baseball that is. Thanks to my friend Travis we are at beautiful Coors Field for what will most likely be the last Rockies game I will get to see this year baring some sort of miracle. We do get to see Ubaldo try for his 20th win. Go Rockies!

Home!

Our little world traveler has returned home to Greeley this evening. He was so excited to show off his new treasures to mom and dad. Jim and Janet said they had so much fun with him. They did a great job of tiring him out everyday, whether swimming in the pool for several hours or hiking around Disneyland or Sea World. Nathanael ate like a horse and slept like a rock. We are so thankful for a great trip and memories that will last a lifetime. We are also so thankful and happy to have our youngest son home.

OH MY!!

Watch out Nathanael!! There is a huge killer whale right behind you!!!

Sea World!

The California gang is staying busy on their vacation/birthday celebration. Today they are enjoying Sea World in sunny San Diego. This is Nathanael's second visit to Sea World, the first being on a family trip 4 years ago. It looks like he has scored several new t-shirts on the trip so far. Keep having fun little buddy. But come home soon, your mom and dad miss you terribly.

Slide!

What better thing to do on a 105 degree day in Palm Springs then find a huge waterslide to ride down with grandma? What fun!

California

The gang in Palm Springs is also having a great day, despite the 105 degree heat out there. They have been spending lots of time at the pool and the air conditioned arcade. They will be seeing a movie tonight then Disneyland and Sea World later in the week. Try and stay cool Nathanael!!!

Reward

Blizzard. With her dad. Enough said.

Ride

Sarabeth has been asking for quite awhile to go for a ride. So with no grocery shopping to do today, we set out after a quick lunch. It sure didn't feel as hot outside as it was on the Poudre Trail. I think its 91 right now. So we only rode for about 45 minutes and did 7 miles. Which was more than enough for both of us.

Windsor Schraders

This is a quick video tour of my Windsor Schraders the day before the market tour. Three of us spent almost 2 hours getting the store ready for the big walk-through. Too bad they never made it. But at least my readers can enjoy a quick look at the fruits of our labors. Enjoy!

Period 10, Week 2

I know I usually post a picture of a sweet display to go along with last weeks sales, but business is so terrible right now there aren't any displays. This is the finished work on my first piece. Don't thinking I'm going to add color. I love how it turned out. Already considering my next piece.

For the week the route only ran $15,082 on a $18,500 plan. So in the last 2 weeks, I have sold as much as I did during Labor Day. Pathetic I know. Also bad for the paycheck. But at least the weeks are shorter right??

"Vacationwork"

You can't really call it homework if you are 1200 miles from home. Thanks to Mrs. Whatley for rounding up a weeks worth of work for Nathanael to do on his trip. After a crazy busy day yesterday, today will be spent doing some vacationwork and swimming. And eating. Hopefully the kid gains about 10 pounds on the trip.

Late Night

After we had seen and done everything there was to see and do, it was off to beautiful downtown Greeley.  The city has been working very hard at developing a neat and thriving downtown area. So last night in cooperation with UNC, the DDA hosted the first ever Party on the Plaza. There was live music, food vendors, art and craft booths and other local companies selling their wares. If nothing else, the kids are getting use to late nights out on the town! It was a fun night with Sarabeth and Andrew. Even made it home by 10:30.

Greeley Dinner

Well its not Ruby Tuesdays but the pizza at the Funplex was good. We also won a cake at the cakewalk.  I bumped into my good friend Dudley who I hadn't seen all summer. We ran out of time to play mini-golf though.

Meanwhile....

60 miles south of us, Nathanael is enjoying his first meal on vacation. Ruby Tuesdays too! I don't know who was more excited to be on vacation: Jim or Nathanael. Their flight for California leaves at 10:30 today. This will be theforat time on a plane for Nathanael since we flew to Arizona when he was 2 months old.

All Wet!

Having a great night at the Funplex.  Swimming, pizza, a cake walk, mini golf, and lots and lots and lots of kids. Sarabeth is hanging with the older crowd tonight in the swimming pool which are Jen's 8th graders.

TGIF

Yep. She's ready to party at the Family Funplex with the rest of Frontier Academy.  Nathanael will miss the evenings festivities because he is in route to Palm Springs California for the week with Jim and Janet to celebrate his 8th birthday.

Night Ride

A local bicycling club has started organized rides on Thursday night. The route is usually about 10 miles around Greeley. There are several stops along the way at local businesses like coffee shops, bookstores and other local hangouts. Tonight's theme was "Old School." There were people dressed in full '80's garb, classic bike riding outfits, and various other colors and themes. I decided to ride as Frank the Tank from the movie Old School. Ands yes that is a robe and yes that is an adult beverage delivery system.

HALO: REACH

Kinda like Christmas in September.  Wonder if the perfect attendance will still be intact tomorrow. Proud of the fact Noah saves up for the game himself. Of course this means he gets to dictate who plays it. Smart kid.

Snowy Range

I know I'm about a week late posting these pictures, but better late then never right? We had so much fun in Laramie last weekend. We spent Sunday afternoon in the beautiful Snowy Range. The first stop was the slightly breezy Libby Flats. The wind was only blowing about 40 MPH. The kids were also able to find the tiny pond of water left over from the snow melt. We then hiked around Lake Hattie. Not quite as windy there. We had snacks in the parking lot, then hiked a bit more. The afternoon was capped off with dinner at the Bear Rock Cafe in Uptown Centennial.

Today

Statement by the President in His Address to the Nation (9-11-01)

8:30 P.M. EDT

THE PRESIDENT: Good evening. Today, our fellow citizens, our way of life, our very freedom came under attack in a series of deliberate and deadly terrorist acts. The victims were in airplanes, or in their offices; secretaries, businessmen and women, military and federal workers; moms and dads, friends and neighbors. Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil, despicable acts of terror.

The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings, fires burning, huge structures collapsing, have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness, and a quiet, unyielding anger. These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat. But they have failed; our country is strong.

A great people has been moved to defend a great nation. Terrorist attacks can shake the foundations of our biggest buildings, but they cannot touch the foundation of America. These acts shattered steel, but they cannot dent the steel of American resolve.

America was targeted for attack because we're the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining.

Today, our nation saw evil, the very worst of human nature. And we responded with the best of America -- with the daring of our rescue workers, with the caring for strangers and neighbors who came to give blood and help in any way they could.

Immediately following the first attack, I implemented our government's emergency response plans. Our military is powerful, and it's prepared. Our emergency teams are working in New York City and Washington, D.C. to help with local rescue efforts.

Our first priority is to get help to those who have been injured, and to take every precaution to protect our citizens at home and around the world from further attacks.

The functions of our government continue without interruption. Federal agencies in Washington which had to be evacuated today are reopening for essential personnel tonight, and will be open for business tomorrow. Our financial institutions remain strong, and the American economy will be open for business, as well.

The search is underway for those who are behind these evil acts. I've directed the full resources of our intelligence and law enforcement communities to find those responsible and to bring them to justice. We will make no distinction between the terrorists who committed these acts and those who harbor them.

I appreciate so very much the members of Congress who have joined me in strongly condemning these attacks. And on behalf of the American people, I thank the many world leaders who have called to offer their condolences and assistance.

America and our friends and allies join with all those who want peace and security in the world, and we stand together to win the war against terrorism. Tonight, I ask for your prayers for all those who grieve, for the children whose worlds have been shattered, for all whose sense of safety and security has been threatened. And I pray they will be comforted by a power greater than any of us, spoken through the ages in Psalm 23: "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me."

This is a day when all Americans from every walk of life unite in our resolve for justice and peace. America has stood down enemies before, and we will do so this time. None of us will ever forget this day. Yet, we go forward to defend freedom and all that is good and just in our world.

Thank you. Good night, and God bless America.

Stretch!

Middle 7, Rockies up 9-2. Amazing double play from Tulo ended the top half with the bases loaded. Nathanael also ended up with a new cap. Thanks dad!

WOW WOW WOW

Nathanael just got a game used foul ball off the bat of Phillips from the Reds. It rolled off the tarp and the security guard got it And handed it to Than. Wow. Amazing.

And the Winner is....

Ice cream!!! And one for dad too! Only $8.50. What a deal. We even made the TV broadcast on a foul ball that almost landed in our laps. Very exciting. Bottom 5 Rockies still up 5-1!

TULO!!

Tulo hits a 3 run homer and the Rockies are winning 5-1!!  Nathanael is digging into the gummy worms I brought.

Top Third

Rockies score 2 and take the lead 2-1. Nathanael is almost done with his nachos. Wonder what treat is next??

Rockies!!

Nathanael and I are at Coors Field tonight for the Rockies vs Reds. Really need another win tonight. Rockies already down 1-0 bottom 1ST.

Only in Wyoming

It was an amazing weekend in Laramie this Labor Day. Hikes in the Snowy Range, dinner at a quirky place in Centennial, a quick visit with Uncle Steve, homemade food, a trip to the rec center, and a bike ride on the Greenbelt. Which almost didn't happen due to this minor road block. But Grandpa stared down the 600 pound cow, it moved off the trail with the other cows, and the "Tour de Laramie" could continue. More pictures to follow. Thanks again to grandma and grandpa for hosting us this weekend!
