Gallery Hop 2010

At the end of every school year, the art club students sponsor the Gallery Hop. Special pieces of the children's art work, both from the art club and regular art class, line the hallways, doors, ceilings, and tables of the school. There is even a fundraiser for the school by selling some of the kids best pieces. This year's Hop was simple amazing. Stunning. Colorful. And the joy with with each of the kids showed their pieces to both sets of grandparents who were there was really special.

So, here are a few pieces by Noah. Hard to believe this is his final year at the elementary school Hop. Next year, we will have two Hops to attend! One at the 6-12 building and one at the K-5 building.

The Beatles

They were back together again for one night only at the Frontier Academy library. Thanks again to Mr. Seedorf for running the Gifted and Talented program at Frontier this year.

George

Noah decided to present with a group. Maybe less work that way?? He picked George Harrison, who I guess is from some obscure rock band in the 1960's and '70's. All the boys sure had the long hair for it didn't they? It was a good presentation too.

Night of Notables

Noah and Andrew have been working very hard this year in the Gifted and Talented program at Frontier. On Friday night, the program came to a close for the year at the Night of Notables. Each student picked a famous person in history to portray. They dressed like that person and gave a short speech about themselves. Andrew selected Ole Kirk Christiansen (http://www.ideafinder.com/history/inventions/lego.htm) and very famous person at our house. Great speech too! He didn't even use note cards OR a teleprompter.

Mom!

Mom and dad made a quick trip to Greeley today to see the kids amazing artwork at the Gallery Hop (more on that later). We also celebrated an early Mothers Day with dinner out. Here is Sarabeth helping her grandma open a present. Even though the visit was way too short, we are so thankful they made the trip down.

Fritos! CSU graduation! Pay day! It all came together this week to help me run $20,494 on a $18,015 plan. That's $2,478 better than plan for those of you keeping track at home. Stale was ok at $331, which was a 1.6 on a 1.1 plan.

Errands

It has been a crazy busy "day off" today. I started the day with a wonderful, very encouraging breakfast with the lead pastor at our new church. Made the grocery run to Wal-Mart. Picked up Sarabeth. Had lunch. Post office (more on that later). Scratch-and-dent store. Greeley mall (Mother's Day is Sunday!). Sams club. Kohls. Whew.

Sea Shells from the Seashore

Grandma and Grandpa Jim and Janet arrived back in Colorado last night from their trip to Florida. We have spent a great day with them today going to church together, an amazing breakfast at Perkins, then over to their house for souvenirs!

Grandma brought a ton of sea shells home, and allowed the kids to pick a few of their favorites. They also brought everyone a shirt. Jen got a totally cute purse and a pretty necklace. Thanks for the neat stuff!

Claw

Nathanael decided he liked the claw the best. It was the only one in the bunch. Thanks again grandma and grandpa! We are so glad to have you home.

Period 5, Week 2

2 hours. That's how long the little project you are looking at took me. At least my 7-11 owner is happy, right? It was a great week on Route 96835 thanks in large part to the pallet of Fritos at Albertsons that will be on sale all month. Ended the week at $21,274 on a $16,392 plan, beating it by $4,881. I even beat my stale plan by $27.

For Jen

If I'm doing an in-home scotch tasting party, the least I could do was bid on something for Jen. So here is what we won: a cool fleece hat, a pound of coffee, and a $25 gift card to the Buzz, a local coffee shop in Greeley. That should help her get through the end of the school year! Go us! Go Frontier!!

Oh Yes!!

I won! I won! The Gala tonight has been so much fun. A great dinner, a few drinks with good friends, and a really fun live auction. This is the item I was the winning bidder on. I can't wait! How much fun is that going to be?? Kinda like a Tupperware party, except for guys.

Us

The most amazing teacher I know and a tired Frito-Lay guy. Having fun at the Gala! I even bid on a silent auction item. I didn't bid on the coveted parking spot at the elementary building. It will sell for well over $1000. Oh well. Maybe I'll win the kids picnic table.

Frontier Gala

Jennifer and I are attending the annual Frontier Academy Gala tonight. It is an amazing fundraiser for our kids school. There have been several presentations, a skit from the drama club, a few raffles, and a silent auction. The casino night begins in a few minutes. Blackjack. That's like 21 right? Or something different?

Toes

Sarabeth was hanging out with her favorite high school senior this afternoon while mom was at school grading papers. They colored and made some cupcakes. And as you can see here, did some fingernail and toe nail painting. Did Sarabeth choose just one color?? Never, she wanted ALL of them. What an amazing little girl.
