It sure was nice to get out of town after a long week and celebrate not 1, but 2 friends birthdays. Gathered in Ft. Collins for dinner then walked over to the Park Blocks for mini-golf! Fun night celebrating Bryan and Nate, losing at both golf and pop-a-shot, and being surrounded by laughs and stories. Cheers to the year ahead for both of you!
Jumped right back into the action this week, with a variety of personal, professional, and “side-hustle” activities. My blood clot came back with a vengeance during the flights, so another ultrasound and back on blood thinners. But why let that slow me down? Attended the BizWest forum, Rotary, a few catch up pictures from the Greeley Mob Mixer, and AIMS days. I was also able to participate in a ride-along with Greeley Police. We once again checked out some of the homeless encampments, scouted out some notorious hotbeds of shady activities, and learned a lot about a day in an officers life. I was also honored to present one of the awards at the annual Success in 6 gala for leaders and educators in District 6. And finally, I wasn’t the only one with a medical problem this week, as Nathanael earned a trip the the ER and 5 stitches in his forheard after tripping in Ollie and crashing into the corner of the refrigerator.
Goodbyes are always hard, especially when there aren’t travel plans to see one another in the future. We need to change that soon. Early morning flight back home. Said our goodbyes, gave hugs and kisses, and we were off. It was a nice weekend away, loved our time with Sara(Beth), got to see her new place and meet Meeps. I love you, BG…let’s plan to see you soon.
Sunday was a leisurely day of driving along the coast, stopping by overlooks to take pictures, and driving around costal communities trying to find a parking space. Evidently, when it’s sunny and in the low 50’s, people flock to the ocean. We enjoyed lunch a Pelican before turning inward toward Portland. Stopped to get ice cream (and a 40 minute wait in line) at Tillamook. Ended the day with dinner with Gabe’s family.
Chilled at the cottage Saturday morning before making our way into town for lunch and shopping. Oysters on the half shell! The gang dropped me off so I could watch the Broncos defeat Buffalo and enjoy a few cigars on the patio. Made dinner after they got home from watching the sunset over the ocean, and watched a movie to wrap up a very nice and very restful day!.
