A full weekend in ALLOWorld. We hosted a booth at the annual Northern Colorado Children’s Festival. Had 300-400 kids swing by our booth and win some prizes. Rushed home and switched costumes to attend the Western Roots and Cowboy Boots gala for the Evans Chamber. While I didn’t win the “Person of the Year,” ALLO did take home the Michelle Jones award. Also won a pretty sweet bottle of bourbon.
Almost the weekend and it’s going to be a beautiful one! And unfortunately I’ll be inside all day at two separate events. It was a solid week, with a 50th birthday for a buddy, a board meeting in Erie and an event in Brighton on the opening of their new affordable housing project. We Mobbed it up on Wednesday with 32 of our friends, and I finally made it to a cigar night. And finally a few random shots from the internet, the Women’s Walk, and of course Bella.
I remember my first Stone Soup gala for the Weld Food Bank. I had just launched in the business world with New York Life in the spring of 2017. My new friend Brad invited Jen and I to sit at his table. I was blown away. Fast forward to 2025, and it was time for another Stone Soup. This time I belong. People seek me out to chat, take pictures, and sit at our table. Sad we missed the Photo Booth, which turned out to be pretty sweet. A lot of money was raised to provide meals for those in need in Weld County. Blessed to play a small role in that success.
Hard to believe it’s already time once again for the UNC Women’s Walk. If you jump in the Way Back Machine, you will remember last years walk was my big coming out party after my surgery. I got to carry my wound vacuum with me and struggled to finish. This year was a much different story. Said hi to some friends, had a burrito, and crushed the mile and a half walk around campus with my teammate Maria. Snagged a photo with hoops superstar Brock Wisne. Was cool to see Uncle Steve’s old friend Tom be one of the guest speakers. Go Bears.
We are so grateful to be accepted into Ari’s family. And by accepted, I mean ACCEPTED! We were invited to her grandmas 80th birthday in Denver and was it ever special. So many hugs, laughs, and FOOD!! Hard to believe the wedding was just two weeks ago. Looking forward to so many more celebrations with the Cruz’s.
Had an enjoyable, if not busy, last half of the week. Celebrated “National Librarian Day (And Jen)” on Wednesday, followed by a meeting of the minds from the GPO. ALLO had the privilege of being the presenting sponsor for the SAVA luncheon and got to hear from the prosecuting attorney for the Larry Nassar case. Attended a ribbon cutting at the Climbing Collective in downtown. And look, I’m starting a podcast! I’m going to co-host with my friend Tanner at 1310KFKA. It’s called “Let’s Have A Drink.” We will feature a different local personality each week.We started with former city manager Roy Otto. I’ll let you know when it’s live. And on a more somber note, the last time the kids were all together with mom was already 3 years ago.
