For those that have been following the blog for a decade or so, know that the official kick-off to summer is the annual Richmier BBQ on the Sunday of Memorial Day. Sadly, this years will probably be the last. Paul and Hope are packing up and relocating to the Gulf Shores of Alabama later this year. Over the last 5 or 6 years, the picture of Paul and I together has also been the first photo added to that year’s Summer Poster. I’ll miss them both terribly. How about those shirts, though?

Saturday
Whew! What a week! From the official groundbreaking in Evans on Monday, to Trivia and a Pint on ALLO event at Wiley on Tuesday, followed by golf tournament #2 on Wednesday, the Greeley Chamber BAH at the Stampede on Thursday and finally the Grand Opening in Brighton on Friday, I am one tired Events guy. All went well. And oh yeah, Mrs. Roth finished up year 15 at Frontier and is officially on summer vacation,

Steamboat-2
Day two of the conference was also very good. Several presentations from local Rotary Clubs, and a special presentation from a local nonprofit serving veterans. I played hooky from the one afternoon session and had lunch with Jen at the same place we ate at 14 years ago when we were last in Steamboat. We walked around downtown before heading up the mountain on the gondola for the closing ceremony and BBQ dinner.
Steamboat-1
I had the privilege and honor of attending the annual Rotary District Conference last weekend in Steamboat Springs. I was also lucky to have a date accompany me. Thursday was a quick dinner on our way and a beautiful sunset. Saw 4 moose and didn't hit the deer that ran across the road. Friday was a good day of conferencing at Colorado Mountain College, before some free time in downtown. We shared beers and a patio with our old friend from UNC days, Carole. Friday night dinner was in a private room at Laundry with other Greeley Rotarians. It was an amazing 2 hour dinner (we actually closed the place down!).

The Graduate
I’m excited to announce that I am a proud graduate of Leadership Weld County’s class of 2024. It was an incredibly fun and special experience over the past 8 months. I learned, was challenged, and made some great friendships that will carry over for years to come. There was a graduation ceremony at the AIMS Welcome Center that Jen was able to attend and celebrate my success. Thankful and grateful for the opportunity.
