Between concerts, I made it downtown with my friend Paul to celebrate 477 Distilling’s 4th anniversary! We were both part of the top 30 customers so we were able to get in 2 hours early. There was cake, popcorn, free T-shirts, their cask strength bourbon bottles on sale, and a free cocktail. What a special and joyous place Matt and his team have created. Thankful to play a small part in their success.
It’s time for the 2022 Greeley Stampede! Our group kicked it off in a big way Friday night, starting with watching the Ave lose game 5 before heading downtown. Brad Paisley put on a great show, as did Jo Dee Messina. Saturday we made the return trip to see Stone Temple Pilots. Which was the first concert I ever saw in the spring of 1996 at Red Rocks. Late nights for sure this weekend, but so much fun and so many new memories!
I had the privilege of sneaking Jen away on Sunday for a quick overnight stay at a fancy hotel in Fort Collins and a concert with the former front man for Barenaked Ladies, Steven Page. The entire evening was a surprise for her, which I think she enjoyed. We shared a few appetizers and cocktails before the show, then went to her favorite breakfast spot the next morning. Good seats for the show, too.
The Satellite Rotary club I’m involved in has decided to adopt a portion of highway and do a quarterly clean-up along the road. Our section is now Highway 34, between 23rd and 35th Ave. Saturday was our first scheduled day to pick up trash. We had a solid turnout of 10 members and worked for almost 2 hours filling bags of trash. Didn’t find anything too interesting, just more mini shot bottles there there probably should have been.
We had the opportunity to join the UNC Alumni Association table at the 100th Annual Greeley Stampede Boots and Buckles Ball on Saturday. Fancy fancy fancy! Very enjoyable night of seeing friends, dancing, eating, drinking, and having a chance to break out the cowboy gear!. Thanks for the invite Barnhart family!
So Sarabeth and I did a thing last week as a graduation present from her dad. We got tattoos! Thanks to my new friend Rio at Kold Ink, we now have some new artwork to cherish the rest of our lives. Sarabeth had her friend draw hers for her. I left the artwork of mine up to Rio…with a very important contribution from mom and dad.

We had to bump up the date of the annual Father’s Day Cornhole tournament due to one of the couples that competes were scheduled to be out of town. So we hosted the party over the weekend, and guess what? Scribbs won. Again. And it wasn’t really that close. Everyone had a good time, even though it was 100 degrees outside when we started about 4.
