Once again, Andrews Academic Pentathlon team are state champs!! Now the real fun starts: fundraising for the trip to nationals in Dallas the middle of May. They have already had one fundraiser which was the dodgeball tourament last week. That's what Jen and her co-workers are dressed up for in the last picture. Nice job Andrew and congratulations!

Seussical
While Noah didn't perform in the high school production of Seussical, his girlfriend did. So he made it to three of the four performances this weekend. He only missed the afternoon show because he was competing at track. He was also invited to tag a long to the after show cast parties each evening. Shayla did a great job at the show we saw her at on Friday night as the purple bird!
Uncle D!
What a great finish to the vacation! Uncle Andrew made it up to NoCo for the night to hang out, drink some adult beverages, and visit a few of the breweries he hadn't been to yet. We started at Wiley Roots and followed that up with Weldworks. My new favorite food truck Tramp About was there! Pulled BBQ pork sandwiches and spicy slaw. Downtown was the next stop at Brix. We enjoyed egg rolls while sipping another delicious Colorado microbrew. Jen was home from Noah's track meet, so we picked her up and stopped at the Broken Plow for a chili beer and a spicey BBQ chicken pizza. None of us had been to High Hops, so we stopped in Windsor before they closed. We finished at the Tavern and discussed Top Chef Northern Colorado with Chad and Wendi. It was a great night. So fun to catch up with D and hear all about he and Rebecca's adventures in Denver. Still hoping they will move back to Greeley real soon. We miss them.

TBT-Sturgis
After the party at the airport and a lunch at Perkins, we were invited out to Sturgis to spend the rest of the day getting to know Elsie, hear all the stories from China, and see video of Wes and Kim's big adventure. The cousins were all able to play together and watch as Elsie began to explore her new forever home. She even allowed me to hold her and take a few selfies! She is so strong for an 18 month old and was able to keep up with Kaleb and her cousins. We also opened many welcome home gifts including two beautiful handmade blankets from Jen and Janet. Kaleb also got to open his birthday presents a couple of days early. Legos!!
TBT-Elsie!
It's hard to believe that it's been almost a month since we welcomed Elsie home from China! We were fortunate to be a part of a huge party at the Rapid City Airport when Wes and Kim landed with Elsie. They are so blessed to have such an amazing network of friends and family in the Black Hills. Kaleb was so excited to see his folks after 16 days away from them. The tenderness with which he greeted his new sister was so touching. And now I have a niece! Couldn't be a prouder uncle. Welcome home, Elsie!

7-11
It's national Slurpee day at 7-11 today! For only $1.49 they will fill whatever container you bring in with Slurpee. While we were waiting in late we saw kids with 2 gallon milk jugs, iced tea pitchers and Tupperware containers. Didn't see any kiddie pools or coolers. Kids had fun with their 72oz sippers.
Dad
It was great seeing the folks this week as they made a quick trip to Colorado for a doctors appointment. We were able to celebrate dads birthday together on Wednesday at the Tavern. I had a late breakfast with them on Thursday before dads appointment. Happy birthday dad! Hopefully this will be the summer we can catch a game together at Coors Field!

Noah
Yes Noah is still alive and doing well. He had several job offers over spring break, so he stayed home and punched a 40 hour week at Steak 'n Shake and stayed at the girlfriends parents house while they were out of town to babysit their dog and keep an eye on their place. He was invited on a birthday party snowshoeing/hiking trip to RMNP and Estes before break. Here are Noah and his friends! Pretty good odds!

Arches
It's Jeep Week in Moab! Kinda like being in Sturgis the first week of August. We lunched at grandpas resturant before heading into Arches NP. Andrew and I haven't been there since the Mancation of 2006. Nathanael and sis were there a year ago. Jen had never been there to see the arches. So it was a great trip. We started at Balanced Rock, Park Avenue, then onto Windows and finally Delicate Arch. We only hiked to the viewpoint for Delicate since it was starting to get a little late in the day. After getting back to Grand Junction, we met up with Jim for a nice dinner at the Ale House. Another successful day of vacation!
