Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to dad today. Thanks for the support, encouragement, laughs, conversations, and shared passion for our sports teams. I am so lucky to have you as a father. How about a catch sometime? Or maybe some work on our gate?

Also, happy Father's Day to my brother Wesley. You are an incredible dad to Kaleb, and soon for your daughter.

Deserts Edge

Little by little and bit by bit, photos of the mission trip to Deserts Edge church in Utah are slowly starting to appear. I don't really have any info on any of these, but here their are nonetheless. So thankful the boys were able to go and serve others while being a light for that little community.

41

Kind of a late happy anniversary and an early TBT. Congrats to mom and dad on their 41 years of marriage yesterday. Pretty incredible. Thank you for modeling an exceptional marriage for me, Wesley, and your grand kids. We are so blessed to have you as parents. Here's to many many happy and fulfilling years ahead!

Highway 34

Finally made our first trip west on Highway 34 since the flooding in September. It was just awful. Even 8 months later. The devistation that was caused was sort of mind numbing. The little park Called Waterworks that we had several fun family events at was nothing more then rock and dirt. Drake doesn't even really exist anymore. Complete sides of the canyon were washed away. Even the house that the floor washed away but the washer and dryer were still connected was still there. So was the pop-up camper that was stuck now in the middle of the river. Pretty sad.

Utah-Day 5

Been receiving sporadic updates on the Utah trip from the Twitter feed, random calls and texts from Noah, and one call from Andrew asking if Nathanael could buy a game for him on Steam while it was on sale. Here are a few of the Twitter updates from the youth pastor. Also here is a text from Noah yesterday:

The first two pictures are from my job this morning; getting golf balls out of the walls of a canyon off of a driving range. (Ill have a better picture in about an hour) and the last is a picture of my last job. I hung out with and cleaned wheel chairs for some elderly people with dementia.

Amazing isn't it? I'm so proud of those young men and the blessing they are to that community this week.

Huntington

Another update from the youth group. Still haven't physically heard from either of the two boys.

Utah

Reports from Utah have been sporadic. No actual word from either Noah or Andrew, just twitter updates from the youth pastor Mike and other updates via Facebook from some of the parents on the trip. Here's little Andrew barely hanging on while on the sightseeing trip Sunday afternoon to the desert of Utah. The pictographs are pretty cool too. Noah is in the bright yellow shirt on the left.

Sheep Draw

Summer days are also for bike rides and earthquakes and helping sandbag your favorite brewery! Last night about 8:50, Greeley was hit with a 3.7magnitude earthquake!  We will rebuild. In one of the photos from the ride, you can see an evil fracking operation that probably helped to cause it.

While Sarabeth is visiting from Grand Junction this weekend, we mananged to sneak in a bike ride on a new trail that we haven't tried yet: Sheep Draw Trail. It was a great little ride for our group. Then we had Blizzards!!

About the time we were finishing up, my favorite brewery, Wiley, put out an APB to come help sandbag as the Pourde River has crested over its banks. So I joined some other folks in helping protect the brewery. And what happens when you help? Other then a group photo on their Facebook page? The owners bring out a keg and cups to thank everyone. Pretty good Sunday.

Summer

Summers are for friends and fires and lemonade stands. Pretty sunsets and crazy clouds. Also for drinking beer out of their new personalized mug at Wiley Roots. And it's only June 1!
