Hunt

While all our Colorado friends appear to be in shorts and tshirts for their Easter egg hunts today, we bundled up in our winter coats, hats and gloves and headed to West Laramie to try our luck. With a light breeze of 30 MPH, it looked like the Oklahoma land grab of the 1800's when the kids were allowed to grab the eggs. Everyone got at least a few, and Kaleb ended up with lots!

Then it was back to our warm cars and house to dye some eggs and eat again.

Food

We are all together again in Laramie for Easter weekend. And when Roths get together we eat. Lots. Last night it was Mexican at Corona Village. This morning we had a delicious home made breakfast. Can't wait to see what's for dinner!

BOTB

It's that time of year again: the Battle of the Books. This year, Nathanael and his team had to read 10 different books and be the "expert" in 3 of them. Then they would compete against 7 other Frontier teams for the chance to be one of two teams to head to the District 6 competition in May.

The boys rocked it today!! There was no fear as they answered questions and discussed their winning strategy. They came out on top by a 42-40 score over the second place team. Great job Nathanael!! Can't wait to see how you do at districts in a little over a month.

Sugar

With Easter only a few days away, it was time once again for the traditional decorating of the cookies at Devin and Ashley's house. Ashley made a delicious dinner of home made chicken noodle soup and broccoli and cheese soup. Then it was time to bring on the sugar! Thanks again for hosting guys and thanks for loving our family so much. We are blessed.

DMNS

Today was Sarabeth's big field trip to Denver and the Nature and Science Museum. Even though the bus arrived a little late, we were still able to cram everything in. We started at the IMAX, then enjoyed a sack lunch together. The other exhibits were all visited, including Space, Egypt, the Human Body, Rocks, and the main current attraction on Woolly Mammoths. We skipped the gift shop since Grandpa Roth wasn't with us.

Ice

Not only have the Colorado Eagles games been pretty fun, but the football void this winter has been filled by the Colorado Ice our local Indoor Football League team. On Sunday, Paul invited me along to the game. We had great seats: front row! The games are really fun. At halftime all the kids can come on the field and dance. Any ball that ends up in the stands is yours to keep. And after the game, fans are encouraged to come on the field and meet the players and cheerleaders. It was a rather low scoring game for the IFL with the Ice beating Green Bay 24-20.

Gii

Sarabeth has been working hard in karate the last few weeks. She is doing so well that she has earned her gii and her first belt. She is a hard worker and does and tries everything that is asked of her. I'm a very proud dad!

Irish

I know St. Patrick's Day was awhile ago. But it was still a cookie making/decorating party at Devin and Ashley's. We also got to see Devin's new pets! The cookies ended up pretty sweet, both literally and figuratively.

Karate!

God bless Living Social deals! For only $10, we were able to enroll Sarabeth in 5 weeks of karate lessons and get a free uniform! Yesterday was her first class and I'm thrilled to report that she loved it! She was so brave getting up there with all the other students and trying something she had never done before. Go sister!

Pancakes & Chemo

Best of both worlds, right? Yesterday morning Janet and I got to help serve a hot breakfast to all the 3rd, 4th and 5th graders at Frontier. The breakfast in an annual tradition to get the kids excited and prepared for the TCAPs. Nathanael was the first in line!

Then it was time for the unfun stuff: round number three of chemo. All my blood levels were good, so let the infusion begin. Four hours later I was done and on my way home. Rough night as all the side effects were present. AGAIN. At least I'm getting my monies worth. Thanks for everyone's kind words, prayers and thoughtfulness throughout this time. Three down, five to go.
