Sing!

Nathanael had his winter concert last night. Jen attended and said he did very well. She did manage to talk him out of ice cream afterwords since it was about 25 degrees with 30 MPH wind. He was talked into a value meal at Burger King instead.

Foodies!!!

It was a pretty sweet night last night in Ft. Collins as we celebrated my birthday at Foodies Culinary Academy. The eight couples in attendance divided into boys verses girls in an epic Iron Chef cooking party. We had 90 minutes to prepare an appetizer, a main course and a dessert. They have a full commercial kitchen and all the ingredients needed. We just had to follow the recipes and get everything done and plated in 90 minutes!

The theme of the evening was Mexican. The boys team made stuffed jalapeño, a carne astade and a chocolate cake for dessert. The girls team is still trying to figure out their recipes and strategy. Haha. Actually after sampling the final products, the boys won! It was a great night with lots of laughs, teamwork, and intense competition. Better luck next year girls!

Laramie!

The Littles and I enjoyed a really fun and restful four day weekend in Laramie last weekend. Thankfully mom is feeling better and stronger everyday, so we had a few home made breakfasts! Dad spent a few hours with the kids at the swimming pool while mom and I shopped and enjoyed some coffee downtown. We ate a lot of ribs at Chili's on Friday, Jimmy Johns on Saturday and some yummy Mr. Jim's pizza on Sunday. Monday was pretty lively with lots of doctors appointments for mom and dad in two different states. Thankfully everyone is ok today and on the mend!

Science

Back in December, Noah won one of the top places at the Frontier Science Fair and earned a trip to the district science fair which was held today. It was a pretty impressive group of projects he is competing against, but I'm confident he will do well and represent himself and his school proudly. He looks more grown up everyday that's for sure.

Romance

Romance was in the air on Saturday night out at the Tavern at St. Michaels. Noah treated Meriah to a carriage ride around the square and a beautiful red rose. Hard to believe they have been dating for 2 1/2 years!

School Parties!!

Sugar!! Candy!! More sugar!! Games!! The Valentines Day parties have begun. I decided years ago that there wasn't really a point in having the kids write their classmates names on a cheap paper Valentine and taping a piece of candy to it. So now we just buy a big box of candy and the kids pass that out. Much quicker and less stressful. Been a great day so far before the Littles 4 day weekend begins!

Cookies!

As a run up to the big holiday tomorrow, Devin and Ashley brought the dinner and cookie making party to our house last night. The home made chili and cornbread was amazing! Then the cookie decorating began. Lots of shapes, colors of frosting and sprinkles. Lots of laughs too!

Weekend

It's been a pretty good weekend here so far. Things started off well at trivia Thursday night when our team finally won a prize! Actually we had too many people for one team, so we had to break into two. The teachers were on the losing team, I was on the team that won 2nd and $15!

Friday afternoon to celebrate the great job the littles did on their tests, it was off to TCBY! Yummy! We also had fun at Frontier movie night. Today Jen and I got away for a few minutes for a quick coffee date. We even sat outside in the beautiful weather. Tomorrow is the Super Bowl and a get together at our house!
