Questions

At each table in the snack room, they placed this card with a few discussion starters on it. Sarabeth had some great answers to some of them including "Tim Tebow" and "4th of July in Laramie." It was great to talk with her one on one while we shared brownies and punch.

Snacks

Taking a quick break from dancing to enjoy some punch and brownies. We will be getting our picture taken next then more dancing!!

Dinner!

My beautiful date and I are off to the annual Daddy/Daughter Dance sponsored by the city of Greeley. I asked her where she wanted to have dinner tonight, and we ended up at one of the nicest Chinese places in town. Now, off to the dance!

Friday Night!

Both of the big boys are at friends places tonight, so the four of us are having a big night out on the town. First dinner at Farmers, then a quick stop at Hastings and a stop at King Scoopers for a few supplies. I suggested we walk down to the Blue Mug for the open mic night. The place was packed! Great to see the support from the community for a locally owned coffee shop. We got to see several of Mrs. Roths former students sing a few songs. The kids were playing on some girls iPad and iPhone while listening to the music. Next stop DQ for ice cream!

Lunch!

Back at Frontier this morning to help with Nathanael's class and their cow eye disection. More on that later. Since I'm here, I decided to sit with the kids during lunch. Sister packed the Nerf hoop I won at the Frito party for snow and tell today. Too bad it has the CU logo on it.

Teaching

Stopped by to drop off a little Starbucks to Mrs. Roth today. She was on her planning period so she allowed me to snap this picture of her at her desk. Her father-in-law would be proud.

Sadness

Had a few minutes to kill before getting the kids, so I thought I'd pop into Hastings and check out a few books. This is what I saw. Evidently there aren't enough people in this town of 100,000 to support even one bookstore. ONE BOOKSTORE??? So as of February 18, the options for us Greeley folks will be....Walmart, Sams, Family Bookstore, and King Scoopers to buy books. Pretty sad. There is still a Barnes and Nobel in Loveland, but that's a 15 minute drive. We will all be forced to get a Kindle simply because there aren't any bookstores left.

7-35

Mostly sadness in Colorado tonight after a terrible first half by the Broncos. This could be Satan's biggest win since the Garden of Eden. I hate Brady and everything Boston. Maybe the last Tebow of the season.

Homefun!

Working on math and writing tonight. Nathanael is really loving his advanced math class. Sarabeth shared the entire story of Jack and the Beanstalk using props she made in class today before starting on her homefun.

Outside

Still enjoying the brutal Colorado winter here in Greeley. Kids even had to put on their fleece jackets to ride around the neighborhood. Hopefully we can get Sarabeth up on a bike this year!

Lunch

Somehow, Little D has a way of asking/conning me into bringing him lunch on my days off. Today he used the incentive that he had a coupon for a free taco. So, he got lunch today from Del Taco. And geeze, for a guy who doesn't like girls, there sure are a lot that sit next to him at lunch.

Christmas-Colorado

After a long, snowy, icy drive home, we met up with Jim and Janet for a nice dinner at Perkins. Once everyone was finally full, we arrived home to a VERY happy Tulo who was SO excited that his family was finally home. We unloaded the cars, got in some comfy pjs, turned on the fireplace, and setteled in to open the wonderful gifts from Jim and Janet. More Legos, clothes, books, and toys were opened by the kids. Noah and Andrew each got a special note from "Mrs. C." attached to a gag gift. They then had to search for the $$$ that was hidden. Pretty creative!

It was a great finish to one of the best Christmas' ever.

Christmas-Stockings

We arrived back on Baldwin Street early Christmas morning to open stockings, eat and quick breakfast, then get on the road to Colorado, where Grandma and Grandpa Jim and Janet were waiting for us! Candy, some small toys, gag gifts, new ear buds, and more candy were over flowing the kids stockings. Then, it was time to pack everything up, and head to church!

We met up with the Berry family at Wes and Kim's church in Piedmont, and together we were able to celebrate not only Christmas morning together, but join with Wes and Kim as they dedicated Kaleb to the Lord. It was a wonderful moment to be a part of. Thanks again to Wes and Kim for hosting the big gathering over Christmas!!

Christmas-Playtime!

While the adults were opening and sharing their gifts, the kids were opening and playing with and putting together their new toys. Sarabeth and Nathanael opened their art supplies and started drawing, Andrew began building the White House out of Legos, and Noah looked at his bow and sat with the adults. We enjoyed Pizza Hut pizzas for dinner, and lots of Aunt Kim's yummy snacks and home made desserts.

Christmas-Parents

After the kids were all done tearing into their presents, the adults were able to take their time opening theirs. Lots of Broncos stuff, books, photo software, clothes, home made quilts, blog books, donut makers, more books, and DVDs were exchanged.

Bow

One of the neatest gifts that was received this Christmas was the hunting bow that Ryon Berry gave to Noah. Noah had wanted a bow for well over a year, but wasn't able to get one. Then on Christmas Eve, Ryon called and asked if Noah would like his old bow since he had just gotten a new one. Boy would he ever! Ryon spent several hours getting the bow and accessories ready, then showing Noah how to use it. Amazing! Hopefully Noah can join Ryon next summer or fall out on the ranch and go hunting!

Christmas Wrap-Up

Just catching up on the rest of Christmas before we move on to all the great things that 2012 will have to offer (like a Romney/Thune ticket). Our family was so blessed by all the thoughtful gifts we received in South Dakota from Bob and Bonnie and Wes, Kim and Kaleb. It was so fun watching a 9 month old figure out opening presents. We haven't enjoyed something like that in about 6 years! The kids were thrilled with all the neat things they were blessed with. Noah got running gear, Amazon $$$, and an amazing gift from Ryon Berry (more on that later). Andrew received books, clothing, science experiment equipment, and really sweet Lego sets. Nathanael enjoyed his new art supplies and Skylanders game. Sarabeth got lots of girl stuff including clothes, Barbie, art supplies, and Taylor Swift music.
