After a busy Fall Festival at school, here is Grandpa getting ready for "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" in 3D with the grandkids. What a cute looking bunch!

NFL Pool
Since everyone in the family had such a blast picking the games last spring in the NCAA tournament, I had the brain fart that gee, maybe they would have just as much fun picking the NFL games each week. That way, they can begin to learn important things that aren't taught in school: point spreads, over/under, what a bookie is, and other important gambling items. They are never too young to learn, are they?
Noah won the week #2 picks by correctly picking 10 winners. Andrew was second with 9. It came down to the MNF game, with Noah picking Indy, and Andrew picking Miami. Great job guys!
FYI- I finished 4th with 7 correct.

New Belgium Brewery
Finally got off work on Saturday and met up with Jennifer in order to take her to New Belgium Brewery. It was her first trip and I think she enjoyed it. The rules had changed in the tasting room since the last trip. You use to get 5 tasters for free. Now its only 2. Bummer. The man explained that people would sit and drink and visit all afternoon and no one could ever get a seat. Now people drink their 2 tasters and move along so more people are able to experience the magic of the brewery. Made sense, but 2 little tasters go pretty quick.

Build-A-Bear!
As a late celebration of her 5th birthday, Sarabeth asked to go to Build-A-Bear with her BFF Hannah. So all the girls (Sarabeth, Hannah, Jen, Grandma Janet, and Hannah's grandma Coleen) loaded up and headed out for an exciting afternoon of bear building!
Sarabeth selected a purple kitty with a witch costume. Then it was up to Jen to stuff the thing and put in the purrer thing-a-ma-bob. The girls all had a great afternoon and were dancing in the rain soaked sidewalks as they left.

Potato Days
Every year the city of Greeley celebrates Potato Days. It is celebrated at the Meeker Farm the second Saturday in September. Potato Days is a celebration of the early homesteaders in the Greeley area. There are demonstrations, exhibits, and petting zoo, and games for the kids. The best part is everyone gets a free baked potato with all the fixins. Jen took all the kids on a very damp Saturday morning. Looks like everyone had fun.

Senator Kennedy
I know I'm a little late in posting this so I'm sorry. This is both a younger Sen. Kennedy and much younger Campingdad in Washington D.C. in the spring of 1994. I know I know. I have a great haircut and amazing polka-dot silk shirt. I was on the cutting edge of style back then.

Homework
The boys are really excited to be working on homework(fun) today. Its like pulling teeth to get them to do it sometimes. Hopefully it will only take Andrew 6 hours to do his 3 page assignment.

Sarabeth!
We rushed home from First Night AWANA so Sarabeth could open all her presents. It didn't take long as she tore into them as soon as we got home. Friends and family were so generous to her this year, as she received many wonderful gifts. Nathanael read her the new book given to her by Grandma and Grandpa Roth, and mom help set up the Tag reading system from us and Grandma and Grandpa Gonzales. Thanks also to Wes and Kim for the Toys R Us gift card and Martha and Dave in Texas for the cold hard cash.
AWANA
Well, its already that time of year again: AWANA! We started our second year at the Mountain View E-free AWANA club this past Wednesday. First Night is always a blast. Seeing friends from last year, getting the kids their new books and uniforms, and of course lots and lots of games. The highlight this year was the ping-pong ball toss. The winners each got a goldfish. Unfortunately, we won 2. Poor goldfish. There was also a tractor ride, watermelon seed spitting contest, and a "milking" contest. It was a beautiful evening to be outside with the kids having a good time together.
ed. note: As of this posting, one of the fish is still alive.
