PDX- Father’s Day PT.1

Time for a little Father’s Day celebrations! Started the day with a 45 minute walk around the VRBO, followed by some coffee and donuts at the local coffee shop. The group split up again, with some of the gang heading the the zoo, nd my boys and I heading out for some adventures. First up? Pizza and beer! Then a cool mural picture and a drive by the Batteries Plus Noah spent so much time at. How about that track suit???

PDX-Saturday Night

As we finished up the Rose Garden, it was decision time! We decided to have dinner at a cool food truck park that use to be the Portland insane asylum. After dinner, some of the crew headed back to the VRBO, while the rest of the crew headed towards Noah and Sariah’s new neighborhood for some drinks. The girls decided to walk around and go to the apartment, while Sariah and the boys checked out a rooftop bar, which happened to be on the roof of a former high school. There was also a concert going on, so plenty of fans of “The Damned” were milling around as well. Andrew had one of the funniest conversations I’ve ever witnessed with an older punk rock cougar that was in line in front of us. Quite the story and memory!

PDX- Rose Garden

We wrapped up our Saturday with a trip to the Portland Rose Garden. It was just incredible! Much more beautiful then when we were last here in the fall. We spent several hours walking around and admiring the roses, as well as taking a few silly photos and people watching from one of the many shady benches. Even managed to get a nice group picture.

PDX- The Graduate

And here he is, the 2024 graduate with honors in Business Accounting and a History Minor, Noah Albert Roth. His honors thesis on the retirement fund for the Portland Firefighters Union in quite the accomplishment. We were honored to spend the weekend celebrating you, son. Congratulations!

PDX- Saturday

After a nice quiet 40 minute walk around the neighborhood and a cup of coffee at the local coffee shop, it was off the the farmer’s market at PSU. It’s always quite the experience. Seeing the looted and destroyed PSU library was particularly heartbreaking. Noah said it won’t reopen until spring of 2025, after the “protesters” were finally removed several weeks ago. We jumped on the streetcar for the ride to Powells, where the group found some cool books and souvenirs. Then it was decision time!

PDX- Friday Night

We closed out a very long Friday with a walk to Prost Brewing for dinner. It was great to have Sariah and Hashbrown join us for the evenings activities. Sure did a lot of walking, between wake-up call in Greeley at 2 and bedtime in Portland at 10. Another big day planned for Saturday!
